It's fun to gloat about Ellsbury, but I'm not sure we would want to see a head to head comparison between the Sox & Yankees on which team has flushed the most money down the toilet over the last 10 years or so.
I honestly don't think Jack Morris should be in the Hall, and yes, my starting point for that statement is his career WAR.
Morris's career bWAR is 43.5.
Schilling's is 80.5.

The WAR component additions and subtractions on Baseball-Reference (B-R) are actually pretty easy to decipher.
There is a 'positional' adjustment you have to watch for.
To get under the 208 million mark it appears they have to do at least one of the following:
1) Trade Betts.
2) Trade JD Martinez.
3) Trade Price.
The first two are certain to piss off a fair number of fans and signal that the team is not fully committed to contending in 2020.
The third will not piss off very many.
