  1. They can make whatever offer they want. It's up to Bloom to decide if it's acceptable.
  2. Yep, never a dull freaking moment. Even when times are good LOL
  3. Wut? The whole premise of this 'tipping your hand' crap is pretty dumb. If the Red Sox let other teams know David Price is available, it's pretty clear they're doing it to cut payroll, isn't it?
  4. He said he knows from firsthand accounts. Someone with firsthand knowledge allegedly told him this.
  5. All guys who get paid to criticize the team.
  6. Selig was castigated for 'looking the other way' on PED's for so long. Manfred could end up being regarded similarly. The juiced baseballs don't do much for his credibility.
  7. Look at the Dodgers trade in 2012. The Dodgers kind of knew we badly wanted to unload those contracts, but it worked out for us somehow...
  8. This is a big oversimplification though. Just because other teams knew the Sox were cutting payroll doesn't mean they're not going to make fair offers if they're really interested in the player. If they don't get the player they're interested in, what good does that do them? Plus the Red Sox are hardly the first time in the situation of trying to cut payroll or unload guys whose contracts are expiring. Teams do it every year.
  9. And isn't Manfred now obliged to provide the names of all the other players who participated in the sign stealing, so nobody ever hires them as managers?
  10. Manfred seems to have already answered that question. But he also outed Beltran as a cheater and liar. So he's f***ed anyway.
  11. Lots of buzz that the Mets have to fire Beltran now.
  12. Manfred knows he f***ed up not being proactive about the video stuff. And if any more teams get implicated, the fingers will start pointing at him too.
  13. They said that when Francona left too, IIRC
  14. Get ready with a new one for the next guy.
  15. Here's a new piece trying to drag the Yankees/Beltran into this with the comments Cora made after the London series. https://www.nj.com/yankees/2020/01/mlb-rumors-did-red-soxs-alex-cora-drop-hints-carlos-beltran-helped-yankees-cheat-in-2019.html
  16. That's not what Morrison said though.
  17. If the Sox weren't using it doing the POs, it kind of helps validate the title, doesn't it?
  18. Morrison seems like a guy who's plenty willing to talk. Rosenthal and Drellich need to talk to him, at least...
  19. That's what I say too.
  20. Now that Morrison has spoken up, all we need is one or two more to speak up, or squeal in confidence, and Manfred is going to be facing a massive headache.
  21. Morrison said firsthand accounts. So you start by asking him whose accounts.
  22. I assume Morrison understands that distinction.
  23. How did Manfred get his info on the Red Sox? He basically just talked to people, right?
  24. You shouldn't be surprised at all. “So many teams are doing this,” Morrison wrote. “Exactly how many...I’m not sure.” “I know from first hand accounts that the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros and Red Sox all have used film to pick signs.” Shouldn't Manfred want to talk to Morrison and learn more about these accounts? He wants to catch all the cheaters, doesn't he?
  25. Logan Morrison's comments are exactly what I was waiting to hear. Now Manfred has to expand the investigation.
