  1. You can't really win with the media though. If you say something, it's a story. If you say nothing, that's a story.
  2. FWIW Roche and Merloni have tweeted slightly hopeful things about how the Red Sox investigation is going.
  3. No one in their right minds would propose Pedey as manager.
  4. I certainly agree that it could happen at the deadline.
  5. It's just not happening.
  6. I'd be beyond surprised if they trade Mookie now. That would just start up a whole new firestorm. As for Price, there hasn't even been a decent rumor for weeks.
  7. JH made that one comment about wanting to re-set back in September, but it's been walked back ever since. Now he's gone on record about what the priorities are. Plus, of course, none of the payroll cutting trades have happened. If there's going to be any payroll cutting, it won't be till July.
  8. That's the stated priority.
  9. They may not even be re-setting the tax.
  10. And I suppose Tito deserved the same for the 2011 collapse and chicken and beer...
  11. 2014 makes sense, because that's the year the new replay rules and the replay rooms were instituted.
  12. I didn't say that. You're not even bothering to read, just mindlessly jumping to conclusions.
  13. Febles is an unfortunate name for a prospective Red Sox manager.
  14. One man wrecking crew - now that's bull s***. Why are you exonerating everyone else who was in on it?
  15. All I'm saying is that Manfred should ask him to clarify his comments. Agree or disagree?
  16. What Rose did was strictly on his own. What Cora did was participation in a group effort. Manfred decided to only discipline the higher-ups and give the players a free ride. Why? Because they were 'just following orders'? Or because it would have created such an incredible mess?
  17. In my opinion, Manfred is absolutely obligated to talk to Logan Morrison and ask him about these firsthand accounts he says he received about the Yankees and Dodgers. If Morrison tells him it was totally untrue, well, so be it. But Manfred has a big responsibility here to the sport in general. If other teams were doing it, everyone wants to know that and see them disciplined the same way. Get it all out there and do it now.
  18. Why not ban all the rest of the Houston and Boston personnel who participated in the schemes too, then?
  19. Nice to see the New York media doing its part.
  20. Houston needs a new manager too. So will the Mets if they dismiss Beltran.
  21. That was what LoMo said.
  22. Print the tickets.
  23. It didn't come up because Fiers didn't blow the whistle on the Astros until 2 years after the Sox hired Cora.
  24. Not unless jung is right that Manfred went out of his way to absolve the owners from any culpability.
