    The on deck hitter when Posada was up was Giambi. Not even Grady would have let him face Giambi, I don't think.

    100%. And when interviewed about it later, Pedro freely admitted he was surprised that Grady wanted to send him back out for the 8th.

    I could not be more confident about my understanding of how it works, because I verified it with the actual taxes the Sox paid for 2018 and 2019.

    Correct. Plus the fact that, as we learned later, Theo virtually ordered Grady to get Pedro out of there at 105 pitches or so if it came to that.

    That's highly debatable. They might kind of like to have Betts and Price now, after all this. And their fans might too. Plus they could just work out a different deal directly with us and boot the Twins.

    It seems highly unlikely that a deal of this magnitude would completely fall apart because of Grater-All's issues, which were not entirely unknown to start with.

    I'm guessing the offers they got for Eovaldi were dismal, ones that required us to eat a lot of money. Also Bloom might not want to trade Eovaldi that much. Was it him who signed Eovaldi for the Rays? He might also think we need a hard-throwing right hander in the rotation. I'm just speculating there, really.
