  1. DD signed Sale to the extension in late March 2019. So that would mean they wanted to fire him while he was negotiating a 145 million deal. Does that make any sense to you?
  2. That rumor doesn't make a lot of sense. Fire him when, exactly?
  3. So much for hope LOL
  4. At the time it was exciting. In retrospect, just another crock of BS.
  5. The only thing interesting and compelling about McGwire/Sosa was balls flying out of the park at a record rate though.
  6. I think this one was a ground ball that got past the outfielder.
  7. Considering that Weber tossed 3 innings yesterday, maybe the plan is for him to be a starter, not an opener.
  8. Sore ankle, appears to be nothing major.
  9. I see two areas in which MLB is trying to grow revenue recently, and they're both pretty yucky: 1) Gambling-Draft Kings/FanDuel. 2) Nike swooshes on uniforms.
  10. They're getting him to throw more cutters and they think he'll be better as a result. Let's give Bloom a chance.
  11. A 4.37 FIP is pretty much major league average, so that's a point in Weber's favor.
  12. There's absolutely no excuse.
  13. Yes, I read that too.
  14. Wow that's a cutting remark.
  15. Rusney is hitting .538.
  16. Weber after today's game: 2 GS 5 Inn, 5 H, 7 K, 0BB, 1 R, 0 ER
  17. More on that might be interesting.
  18. Oh sure, let's kick the dead horse a little more.
  19. Yeah 2 years for 38.75 million really isn't bad for a DH.
  20. Possible starter or opener Ryan Weber pitches today.
  21. I seriously doubt they would do it. If we're out of it, they can trade JBJ, Workman and Barnes.
  22. The price of upper tier free agent pitchers has just become astronomical.
  23. You've been proven right on it so far. I was fine with it at the time. Some Recency Bias in there, no doubt. But I just thought for a guy with Eovaldi's stuff and his age, it wasn't an outrageous amount. We were all aware of the injury risks. I don't think anyone expected that he would have the 'loose bodies' issue again. Has any other pitcher in history who had TJS had a reoccurrence fitting that description?
  24. I'm a Nate fan. And I hate the 'if he's pitching well trade him at the deadline' premise.
