  1. Hey, maybe the Dodgers will trade us Bellinger. After all, he's hitting .167 with a .514 OPS, so they may think he's washed up.
  2. What the hell does that mean?
  3. I can answer one thing. Verdugo is under control through 2024, so there's no real need to talk extension with him for a while.
  4. He might be worth his contract. I'm certainly not guaranteeing it. But it's far from impossible. His health issues the last two seasons have been 'loose bodies' related to his last TJ surgery. But if you've seen his current medicals and you've seen some damage in there then hey, you know better than me.
  5. I get why Eovaldi is a popular name to be traded. But all things considered, a decent starter for 2 years and 34 million is not a huge investment by today's standards. If you trade him you have to replace him. Assuming you plan to have a starting rotation in 2021 and 2022.
  6. Out with the old and in with the new!
  7. I wonder if Trout has ever had the Sombrero. Honest question, don't know the answer.
  8. A small group of enterprising Phillies fans have found a way to make a lot of noise from outside the park. Last night they did things like blow air horns while the Yankees were trying to hit. Aaron Boone talked to the umps about it but to no avail.
  9. Robert was 0 for 4 last night and had the Golden Sombrero. Humbling game.
  10. What do you eat when the Sox win, Tyler?
  11. You are losing your fastball.
  12. Weber turns it around starting Friday. You'll see.
  13. It would be a pleasant surprise if Chavis turns out to be a decent hitter instead of Will Middlebrooks II as many of us have feared.
  14. Poor Beni. The guy is in a bad way. Hopefully they can figure out something with him. That's all I got.
  15. In the 2018 WS he had a pretty big home run, so he was liked again for a while.
  16. My signature line is my message.
  17. That's right, and it illustrates the insane risk involved in any long term contract for a player. Nonetheless I'm sure you're not upset about the Cole signing right now.
  18. Personally I feel like puking sometimes when I hear people talking about trading Devers or JD or Eovaldi. Some folks just have this 'out with the old, in with the new' mentality.
  19. I think Henry would let Bloom spend up to the tax threshold, but figures Bloom will spread that money around and not burn it on risky long-term deals. Just guessing of course.
  20. Henry and Werner have assured the fans there would no full-on rebuild.
  21. Fair enough. I like JD and Eovaldi so I'm biased toward keeping them. I forgot Vaz. He's under control through 2022 fairly cheap, he's a must-keep.
  22. I wouldn't trade JD or Eovaldi either. I'd want to keep those two plus Bogie, Devers and E-Rod. A tiny core to build around for 2021 and 2022. E-Rod is actually a free agent after 2021, so that's a bit of an issue.
  23. Hopefully the look will include Alex Cora.
  24. Plus the fact that our pitching staff is almost entirely a collection of what dgalehouse calls 'ham and eggers'. It's a team with no chance, on top of all the other difficulties you quite rightly pointed out.
  25. The Yankees are a virtual cinch to be in the 2020 World Series -- if there is one.
