    Bloom might think he was a bit undervalued. We don't really know what he's thinking about it. But we'll know soon enough.

    I think the frequency of Tommy John surgeries shows that the structure of human arm ligaments does not match up well with what being a pitcher asks them to do.

    Maybe because throwing a baseball harder falls in the unnatural strain category. Throwing baseballs has always done an extraordinary amount of damage to pitchers' arms. So many careers have been ended early by injury. And a guy like Nolan Ryan has always been a true exception, a physical freak.

    I'm with you 100%. Also, Perez was one of Bloom's signings, and I think he might be inclined to like him.

    Need some explanation. Why is having 3 left handers necessarily an issue?

    What's the big deal - it was too left-handed in 2018 too.

    Certainly questionable. But when they made the trade, they still had 63.3% of this weird season left.

    I would hazard a guess that very few baseball executives in history have inherited a tougher short-term situation than Bloom did. On the flip side I imagine he got a nice raise from his Tampa pay.

    It's actually a pretty good job by Rosenthal in analyzing the possible implications of the contract IMO.

    Brewer LOL vs. Means Means has been tough on us in the past, I think. But apparently he is on a pitch count of about 50 because he's missed some time. So it promises to be a bullpen battle and a long one. Nice job with the 7:35 game time starts BTW, MLB.
