  1. Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
  2. Just what the farm system needed!
  3. JBJ's hitting problems aren't all mental. He has high-maintenance hitting mechanics, and his swing can get loopy. That's a dangerous combo for a MLer. You can get away with struggling with one aspect of hitting, but not both.
  4. This thread should be called the "David Price whinefest" thread. Jesus Christ.
  5. You know who's usually on a pitch before the pitcher even throws it that plays for this team? Mookie Betts. He's rarely outright fooled by anything anyone throws.
  6. Hazel Mae looks hella feisty. She would've probably whooped Osuna's ass.
  7. ...and that's a weak argument.
  8. Way to logic there bro.
  9. We needed someone to keep YOTN in check. Good choice.
  10. I liked Tito, but didn't like Farrell's super-aggro style, but that's just my opinion.
  11. This is a great post.
  12. No, it's defensible because of the pitch count and how Price had looked. Cora's managed for a month. We are just getting an idea on his tendencies, chill out.
  13. Sv% on outings where Miller actually came in as the closer: 52/57 or 91%. I clearly stated that in at least three instances while playing for the Tribe/Yanks, he blew saves as a SU man. It's not what it is "to you" because you're flat out wrong. Miller is a generational relief arm. Pick another example, there are many.
  14. I like Cora. He has a Tito-ish vibe to him, but he seems a better in-game tactician in his short time in my unsubstantiated, biased opinion. I didn't like his decision to let Price pitch to Krush the other day, but it's defensible.
  15. The choke is real, but it's an exception, not the rule.
  16. Miller has converted 86% (52/60) out of his career save chances, and at least three of those blown saves have happened in situations where he has not entered the game as the closer, but rather setting up. This is why checking before posting is important, and another instance where bias betrays the person.
  17. Andrew Miller? When was he an awful closer? What?
  18. Also, scouts have hilarious stories about players. I remember a guy telling me a couple years ago that he'd been friends with Bartolo Colon since before he got signed. He told me Bartolo would sometimes call home and tell his wife to have his workers roast two pigs because he had some "visitors coming", but he just wanted to eat the pigs himself. Obvious hyperbole, but considering some of Colon's eating exploits, having them roast one is not something I'd put past him. Adrian Beltre is another one I've heard a lot of stories about binge drinking in his younger days. But the funniest stuff is about Nate Mclouth (Remember him?) for when he came to play in the DWL.
  19. I did say *STRAINS* and tears, mind you.
  20. I take offense to that. Not because of the slimy and dishonest part, but because I hate ants. They're icky.
