  1. Part of that anybody is the Red Sox. Doesn't that tell you something?
  2. Padilla has always had good stuff and Doubront has a good arm but missed a full year of development. Out of the others, Silva is the most likely (and i use the term loosely) to become something decent if he stops being a lazy fat-ass, due to his prior run of success in the AL. All that being said, it's unlikely at best.
  3. Don't they have Shoppach for that? Varitek and Wakefield are actually talking about retirement already man, stop beating that drum. They won't come to Boston thankfully.
  4. Noted and will do.
  5. The Tigers already offered him 1/10 and he declined.
  6. This. A thousand times this. But don't be so "authoritative" when saying things like this.
  7. Bailey has a career ERA of 2.07. How is it impossible for him to have a sub-3 ERA this year? Also, if the pitching stays healthy, how is it impossible for them to place top-10 in ERA? The laughable thing is to think neither of those are possible.
  8. Wait, they did lead the AL in ERA. My bad, i thought you meant the league.
  9. Funny you say that. Because this a 180 million dollar team.
  10. Great post.
  11. Great post.
  12. What? Someone thinking the three of them can hold together for a whole season is optimistic, but in no way idiotic. Lester (post 2007) had pretty much been the picture of health, Buchh's back issue was his first significant injury (and it was a stress fracture). The real wild card is Beckett. But it's not far-fetched or stupid idea at all.
  13. They still need an SP though.
  14. Two things: A) This is assumption. Just because i'm straight to the point doesn't mean i'm "bent out of shape". I call a spade a spade and people who disagree with me take it as a slight even though people who agree with them do the same thing. Hypocrisy if ya ask me. B ) BPEF really needs to get off my nuts, and add to the discussion. As people here always say, it's about the argument, not who's arguing. Does it only apply when you're defending someone you like?
  15. This is not real analysis, you're just trying to validate your opinion about Pineda. The truth is, he pitched in the AL West, which is the weakest division in the AL, you're trying to equate one season into over there into actual projections for the AL East, and cherry picking the stats is intellectually dishonest. Where's the ERA, and "contender" is a subjective term. He didn't do well vs Boston, the Yankees, Detroit, Texas or the Angels. Sorry if reality clashes with your agenda. That's why it's laughable.
  16. This is laughable. Pineda pitched at Safeco and got his ass kicked by good teams. Let's keep this in context plz.
  17. He may not just be able to help, that may be the number one reason they hired him. @Jacksonian
  18. You know, this might be difficult to believe, but the worst case scenario does not necessarily have to happen.
