  1. Beckett topped out at 93 yesterday. I was curious after you said this because i thought i saw him hit 93 but then saw you post this, so i confirmed it using PitchFx.
  2. This is a great post. In fact, a lot of it is sig worthy. Well said.
  3. Impeccable timing.
  4. I don't think you can quite prove an actual correlation between FIP and BABIP. Also, if it's Fielder Independent, why would it use BABIP (which is fielder dependent) and LOB%, (which can also be affected by fielding)? Put another way, FIP only calculates factors which can be considered to be directly under a pitcher's control, aka not affected by fielders.
  5. Because he hasn't been caught cheating? Should he be punished without proof? What about "innocent until proven guilty" and all that... I bet you wouldn't be singing the same tune if Ellsbury's 2011 was the topic of conversation.
  6. A Yankee fan with a negative outlook on the Red Sox. Call the news outlets!
  7. No it doesn't. The only factors FIP takes into context are BB's, K's and Hr's. That's why it's called Fielding Independent Pitching, because it only takes into consideration the factors a pitcher can control. This is the formula for FIP: (13*HR + 3*BB - 2*K)/IP + C
  8. I take issue with this. If you're against using a stat, you can't go ahead and do a 180 regarding it just because it suits your argument. Be consistent.
  9. I've said it several times here. The sense of entitlement of a lot of Red Sox fans is ridiculous.
  10. Honest question: Is there a Yankees player you don't like?
  11. Not in NY or Boston. San Francisco and St. Louis respectively. You try too hard.
  12. I'm sure you've got your poster of A-Rod kissing himself in the mirror hanging from your wall, and a CC Sabathia "Eat big or go home" shirt on right now. After all, you're the "eat fast food to lose weight" guy.
  13. I should make this my sig.
  14. We all really need to take a chill pill here. Losing sucks, but getting at each other's throats isn't going to solve anything. Let's patiently wait for them to do better in the next game, and keep in mind people: Only 6 games have been played. So let's all chill. They will play better.
  15. It's six games into April. Again, Jonathan Papelbon could not have been more spot on in his description of Red Sox fans as hysterical.
  16. I'm not trying to drag this out, but i'm rather genuinely curious? What does watching or not watching the game has to do with identifying pitch selection when there are tools better than the naked eye readily available online? and.... How can you guess what someone is thinking under the flimsy argument of body language, specially something that is not obvious like discontent with pitch selection?
  17. Hate is such a strong negative feeling.... That being said, i have never hated someone so intensely as Larry Lucchino....
  18. Neftali Feliz.
  19. Kershaw bounced back from his bout with the shits in a big way yesterday.
  20. Not meant as an insult, but where i come from they call that "Flat out making s*** up".
  21. Now we can go back to arguing about Salty and his "tallness" and "adequacy".
