  1. Yeah but it's picked up steam.
  2. Why would the Guardians give up Masterson for Salty, when they have a catcher who is superior in absolutely every aspect in Carlos Santana?
  3. But Ichiro sucks. As for the rest of the deals, most of them were made for minor leaguers with actual talent, so i don't understand how the deals are made "for nothing". Why talk about a subject you know nothing about?
  4. Color me thoroughly unexcited.
  5. That, along with Ryan Howard's contract are the two blatantly stupid things you can point your finger at when referring to the Phillies' brass.
  6. Not all of that is on the GM. We're talking about a team that won 100+ games last year but suffered through every possible WCS instance. It happens.
  7. I think that's a terrible idea. Halladay is having shoulder issues and has lost all semblance of his velocity. Also, how is the Phillies' GM retarded?
  8. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Some people like SP, and others (like me) don't for a variety of reasons. Let's move on and go back to the awesomeness that is Xander.
  9. I don't mean you. I mean a700 and SoxSport. It's obvious Lucchino runs the organization, because John Henry said so himself, yet they keep attempting to judge Cherington's character without understanding (none of us do) his situation.
  10. Justin Verlander sports a 3.22 ERA and 1.07 WHIP against the Red Sox in his career. Collectively, the Red Sox are hitting .223 /.277 /.328 .605 OPS against Justin V.
  11. Texas should be a lot more manageable overall with Colby Lewis on the shelf.
  12. I'm relatively sure you can get one if you email them through the website. Teams will do stuff like that pretty easily.
  13. The Red Sox own Scherzer. He owns a 9.82 ERA and WHIP over 2.00 against the Sox.
  14. Well go figure.
  15. Count me in as a rider of the "SP.com sucks" bandwagon.
  16. Excellent point. No need for conspiracy theories when there are established precedents for this type of player acquisitions.
  17. It's a team that's gone to the WS twice in a row and failed. They are considered the best team in MLB and their viewership and national coverage have increased dramatically. I think he'd wilt under the spotlight. That's my opinion, and one i think Texas would seriously consider before making a move for the guy. If someone knows about the importance of mental stability for pitchers (or ballplayers in general), that's Nolan Ryan.
  18. Third time's the charm?
  19. Greinke's not an option for Texas anyway IMO. He'd wilt under that huge spotlight.
  20. Not "A". "The" Texas team. There's no way he wants to go to the Astros.
  21. If i'm the Sox, i pay the difference between the contracts and take the gamble.
  22. Another big question is...how much of a problem do Beckett's 10-5 rights become?
  23. The question then becomes, who could want Carl Crawford? I think that the Red Sox should try a bad contract swap with the Nationals for Jayson Werth. The idea has been mentioned before, but i think it makes a ton of sense.
