    Why? Because Buch didn't trust the Red Sox medical staff? Would you? Last time they told him "nah brah it's cool, keep pitching" he had a broken back. People keep jumping on him because for all intents and purposes, Buchholz was right to question the Red Sox medical staff who initially misdiagnosed this problem too. It's not an issue of entitlement or Buchholz being a pussy. It's common sense, something that seems to be lacking more and more these days.

    He could've appealed and taken it into next year though. He was smart to take the deal they offered him for only 65 games instead of at least 100. Also, notice the quoted post was over a month ago, so: "You had to beat that drum for over two months before something happened"

    I've seen the chart. There has been no steady improvement, but rather amazing inconsistency. If he was sitting mid 90's like he was last year, he'd probably be the best pitcher on the staff.
