  1. Lee-Buchholz-Lackey-Peavy-Lester? I came.
  2. Texas raped its farm system for Garza. We got him for Iggy and two guys that aren't even top 30 prospects.
  3. Hiroki Kuroda, but i get your point.
  4. Yeah they gave up nothing from the upper echelons of the system.
  5. I love this post.
  6. Iglesias has long lost his prospect status.
  7. Here's an idea: Since the Sox essentially gave up very little to get Peavy, what if the Phillies budge on Lee at the last minute? Would y'all do JBJ + Doubront + WMB for Lee (70% salary) and Young (have to take him off their hands)?
  8. Isn't he the one trying to keep the African American player?
  9. Would you have seriously rather had Lee but given up JBJ and Bogaerts?
  10. Scouting report on Jake Peavy: http://mlbscoutingreports.com/2013/07/18/jake-peavy-70/
  11. I wonder if Peavy's first start will be Sunday, when Workman would've pitched next. I'll be there, I really hope so.
  12. It was tongue in cheek, my friend. He was solid last year and we needed a RHP anyway, I know.
  13. Again, IF healthy, Peavy is the best pitcher on this staff right now. You're seriously underestimating what he can do when healthy. The problem is keeping him healthy.
  14. Significantly. IF Peavy can stay healthy.
  15. FP is absolutely the worse defensive measure you can use. And Peralta is not the problem (UZR's of 11, 13 and 1 last three seasons including this one). He's referring to the rest of the infield, and part of the outfield.
  16. This Villareal character has 10 runs in 4.1 IP this year so that's pretty good
  17. Ironically, i should be the one saying that. You said "He is Dempster 2.0". It was a stupid thing to say, and you refuse to admit it. Don't be stupid.
  18. We're sending a low level prospect the other way, per twitter
  19. Justin Verlander and Bud Norris have similar ERA's, therefore they are similar pitchers: iortiz logic.
  20. And why does that even matter? And you didn't say "similar by ERA". You said "similar". Which makes no sense.
  21. Not Middlebrooks going the other way either, per twitter
  22. Yeah, but for nothing, or for crap.
  23. Peavy allows less baserunners (lower WHIP), less homeruns and strikes more guys out but pitches way less innings. How are they similar?
  24. but dude, the era's are similar!
