  1. Lester's cancer discovery, the Boston massacre.....that season was a clusterf***.
  2. From the top of my head in 2006 it was the month where they fell from contention, and in 2005 cost them the division.
  3. Isn't he an inverted W pitcher? Every pitcher who couples that with scapula loading inevitably has multiple arm-related injuries.
  4. For the love of God, no.
  5. That's if we even get to the Tigers/the Tigers get to us. With the playoffs, you never know.
  6. "Reliable" is someone who takes the bump every five days and provides innings, regardless of results. That is the textbook definition of who Jon Lester is.
  7. A healthy Buchholz at 80% of his early-season production is enough for the Red Sox to match up man-to-man against the Rays in a short series.
  8. If you do some research, you'll notice an insane amount of year-to-year variance in the league's overall numbers with RISP. What you'll consistently see, however, is that the high OBP teams, due to sheer volume of RISP opportunities, tend to score more runs, even with inferior overall SLG% to the low OBP teams. This lends credence to the idea that, in general, there is a direct correlation between on base ability and runs scored. A comparison between the 2013 Red Sox and Orioles is a perfect example of this.
  9. It's also a good environment for, you know, getting an education.
  10. When i promise, i deliver.
  11. I remember reading somewhere that August is historically the Red Sox' worst month. I'll see if i can dig it up.
  12. What is "dorkball"? And why does the word sound so stupid?
  13. I remember when Theo used to say that the best way to have a very productive lineup is to have above average hitters at every position even if you don't have superstars in any of them. That idea seems to be very accurate.
  14. My beloved first place, how i've missed you. We're meant to be together first place, it is nothing if not obvious.
  15. This year's Red Sox team has been beyond enjoyable for me to watch regardless of anything else that happens from here on out, but the Yankees not looking so good is just the icing on the cake up to this point in the season. All the Yankees fans living in my area have been very quiet this season and I love it.
  16. I haven't been paying as much attention to Pawtucket as I usually do. How is WMB doing? Maybe time to give Bogaerts a shot?
  17. Just bought his shirt on Yawkey Way two days ago You're probably right, though
  18. Can Middlebrooks do much worse than Napoli at 1B at this point? I mean I know it'd be new defensively but Napoli's K's are slowly killing me
  19. I'm not gonna be the type of guy to freak out over last nights loss or even a loss tonight too but holy s*** these are ugly. Gotta win these games. We're better, from top to bottom. Play like it
  20. You're the one trying to make up the possibility of a trade that wasn't gonna happen bro. We know what they wanted for Myers, because they traded him for what they wanted. That is a fact.
  21. Wins and losses are worthless. And you're conveniently discounting Lester's worst and Shield's second-best season. Well done. So yes, i'm still feeling "pompous" although i think you don't know what that means. As for those reports, i fail to see one where even one report comes from Kansas City. Please find one. A trade was obviously brewing....
  22. Lol shut out by the Astros. Low point of the season.
  23. Nice job Napoli. First he swings at ball 4, then K's.
  24. Time to shine Napoli!
