  1. That's because none of the other players actively tried to sabotage MLB's investigation.
  2. Top of the order too.
  3. What was Farrell thinking?
  4. Holy s***, that was right DOWN THE MIDDLE. WTF DREW?
  5. I predict awesomeness from Gomes
  6. What the f*** are they doing? This guy's a goddamned scrub
  7. Napoli better come through
  8. Well he got on base.....
  9. Pedey's going yard here.
  10. Because the formulas use FIP formulas. And because Shields is HR prone and has always had low BABIPS (IIRC it's also normalized in FG's WAR equation) they both harm Shields in his overall WAR rating. It's hard to argue with 249 IP of 2.82 ERA baseball though.
  11. They don't. And they shouldn't. You know what? If you're trying to use wins and losses to defend your argument, let's agree to disagree and move on.
  12. ......because it's the Astros
  13. Well sometimes you gotta what you gotta do.
  14. When lacking in facts, resort to bland rhetoric. Good job. Now that you talk about "producing evidence" how about you produce some of these so-much-talked-about reports about the possibility of a trade between the Red Sox and Royals? And for the record, where did you ask for anything i did not produce? I'd like to see about that.....
  15. Jon Lester's best season, 2010: 3.25 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 208 IP, 134 ERA+ James Shields' best season, 2011: 2.82 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 249.1 (!) IP, 134 ERA+ How has Shields not had a year "as good as Lester's best". Enlighten me.
  16. Yes, because when confronted with facts that contradict one's opinion (like the fact that this was a non-story from the Red Sox perspective), the other person is being pompous. Lol ok internet tough guy.
  17. Andy Petitte is getting his ass lit up by the offensive juggernaut known as the Chicago White Sox. 10 hits, 5 ER through 2.2 IP with 63 pitches.
  18. A classic with a pretty stupid configuration nonetheless.
  19. Says the Boston Red Sox fan
  20. Especially since i'm sporting a Gomes-style beard (albeit a lot "cleaner") right now.
  21. He was also worlds better in 2011, which was (by far) Shields' best season.
