Hanley ended up imploding in Miami. What makes you think he could've handled the Boston spotlight? This is all hindsight anyways.

    Not initially, no. The reason the Sox were eventually willing to part with Hanley was his character, which clearly was (and is) lacking. Also, no Beckett and Lowell, no 2007 WS. It's that simple.
