The real reason why he's kept Gomes in LF is defense. Comerica, unlike Fenway, is very spacious, and Nava is not a good OF. Farrell doesn't need to BS Red Sox fans, we are (in general) not idiots.
This is not true. He's a platoon player. His numbers reflect that. However, hitting lefty is his strong side, so he should be starting against all of these righties.
It's not hard to tell which manager has done a better job. Leyland has been terrible. He's compromised his defense with an injured Cabrera and Peralta in LF, misused his BP, and let Iggy hit last night against Koji in a crucial situation with a LH bat and extra SS on the bench. It's not close.
There's also the fact that he's injured to the point where he can't hit lefty at all. He looks visibly uncomfortable out there at times. This is nothing like the Dodger days. He has legit physical issues.
One of my Tiger-fan friends (he's a jacksonianmarch-level s*** talker, just not nearly on his level of douchebaggery) heckled the s*** out of me after we lost the last game 7-3. He pretty much guaranteed a "series ending victory" tonight for the Tigers. He said the Tigers would "break our spirits".
I sent him a single message through Facebook (he was obviously offline): "Your tears nourish me".
Leyland is not a good tactician. I debated this with Orange Juiced on one of the "sizing up the ALCS" threads. For all the s*** we give Farrell, he's worlds better than a lot of the dregs managing MLB teams right now, including Tampa's super hipster douche.
Seriously, please change the avatar, lest i have to put you on ignore. I enjoy your posts, but the awful grammar is infuriating enough. The trypophobia trip i can't handle.
Station, i am going to find out where you live and murder you and your whole f***ing family if you don't change your f***ing avatar. The last thing i want from the site where i get to talk about the Sox is some ******* purposely tripping my trypophobia. Quit it.
On another note, hello guys! Cabrera is some type of hitter. Jesus
