  1. Yeah I was thinking about doing tomorrow's GT, but Thunder is all over it and I think we should give him a chance. However if you, our benevolent overlord, decide that it is not Thunder's time, I will gather up every last ounce of mojo I have, and create tomorrow's GT.
  2. If Masterson's throwing 87-88 tomorrow, we will likely Brian Johnsonn in a Red Sox uni soon.
  3. But the philosophy of not running into outs, and de-emphasizing the running game are two completely different things. The Sox played straight-steals, but they had a bunch of big boppers who they didn't want to distract with hit-and-runs and the like. Creating situations is a hell of a lot less important when you've got 5-6 guys in a lineup who can go yard at any given time, and a couple more who can drop an XBH with regularity as well. Whether or not you agree with it with one thing, but with a team with as much firepower as those Sox teams had, letting the hitter do their thing was always the percentage play.
  4. We all know the rotation wasn't going to be a world-beating rotation. But it can (and should) certainly be better than this. They are more likely than not going to have to reinforce it either way, but everyone expected that too.
  5. You really really really can't read can you? I did not call you a troll. I said you can't expect people to think you are not a troll if you don't read the posts you are responding to. Just like you didn't read the post I just made, but merely picked out the word troll and rolled with it. Take your time and read the posts you are responding to, so you don't make an ass out of yourself.
  6. You can't expect people to take you seriously and not assume you're just trolling if you're not even reading the posts you are responding to.
  7. That post was supposed to be quoting BTR, but I was posting from my phone, which always yields some......interesting results.
  8. That's because it's the 12th game of the season. By this time, a bunch of scrubs are leading the league in a bunch of categories, while a bunch of established superstars are sucking ass. You know why? Because 12 games are indicative of nothing. This rotation is not going to be very good, but it's not this bad either. The problem is how goddamn much you've been whining even way before the season started. If they pitch a good game "it's early in the season" if they suck "I knew this would happen". Give it a rest. At the 1/3 point of the season we'll have a better idea of where they really stand, and what they need to do. So will other teams, and it's much more likely that pitching will be available by then. If someone stunk, they stunk, we all vent, on to the next game, no need for a constant whining barrage.
  9. It's the 12th game of the season. Are you people serious with this? By that logic, time to cut bait with Lester and every other establishes star who has struggled so far!
  10. My soul turns a little blacker as I type this, but you are absolutely, 100% right. Let me now dip my fingers into lye as penitence for writing that.
  11. You sexy, logical bastard. If you were a woman I would make beautiful, intelligent, logic using babies with you.
  12. This is as dumb as judging the Porcello contract because of three starts. For the love of God use some logic.
  13. No, because pitching just slightly bettet than he has so far guarantees a 100+ million contract because of his age. We get it, you don't like the contract. But that's the fruit the market is bearing and whining incessantly about it is not going to change that. Smoke a blunt and chill the f*** out bro.
  14. 7-155. Well, they lost two games in a row within the first 10 percent of the season. Time to give up on 2015.
  15. God some of you are little bitches.
  16. But you did do haikus for a while some time ago. Although limericks were indeed presented some time after.
  17. True. He should bring that back.
  18. Good YOTN. We need strong mojo. While your mojo is definitely inferior to mine (as you are inferior to me in general with perhaps the exception of haiku-writing ability), I trust the power of your mojo for today. Prediction mojo: 5-3 Red Sox.
  19. And perhaps Owens from the farm.
  20. Look at the Guardians' roster. With Brantley nursing a sore back, and Bourn a shell of himself, the Guardians are built to play station to station. Are you going to hit and run with a bunch of guys who are both slow as molasses and prone to swinging-and-missing? You play the team they give you. The go-go Sox of 2008 (120 SB), and the fast 2007 team (97 SB) completely contradict your very erroneous notion that Francona was a proponent of playing station-to-station baseball. You can scream that he didn't strategize with baserunning until you are blue in the face, but that doesn't take away the fact that you are wrong. Your recollection is very different from almost everyone else's, and the stats.
  21. Fred, do you know how valuable a swingman is? Good teams usually have one of those. If they wanted to turn Workman into one, they had to keep him stretched out.
  22. Are you serious? Did we watch the same game? Stop.
  23. You're still conflating two entirely different situations. Whther or not he had all the "signs" Workman was viewed by the org as a potential swingman, at worst.
