  1. Ewwww, WMB sucks. They should have gotten Hanley to play 3B, skipped on fat boy, and kept Lackey.
  2. Your absolutism is retarded. Life isn't black or white, but rather shades of gray. Cashman put up with years of meddling until he finally asserted his authority. Come join the rest of us in real life.
  3. Well I was going for active players. In that case, we'd have to add Billy Wagner, who was also a 100+ guy for most of his career.
  4. This is a baseball discussion board, not a personal whining/bad joke blog. That is all.
  5. As soon as I signed onto this board, the first thing I noticed is that there are some people here who will constantly whine about the team's FO regardless of the team's performance. It is what it is.
  6. The "benefit of Duquette" argument is overplayed, and doesn't hold much water.
  7. Pretty sure we've had this discussion before Pete. It's a mechanics + overall population issues. Less lefties, and different throwing motions. Then there's Aroldis Chapman because f*** logic.
  8. How are you this dumb? Honest question.
  9. I think you need a reality check. That's not how real life works.
  10. Yeah, but remember that velocity for a lefty is usually lower, which is why you hear more Hamels comparisons. Besides, Owens' arsenal compares more favorably to Hamels' anyway. Needs to refine his command and control though.
  11. Owens' velocity is above-average for a lefty.
  12. Well would you look at that. Elktonnick and I agree on something.
  13. This team sucks so hard Jenna Jameson is calling it so she can get some tips to revive her porn career.
  14. Not nearly the same thing. Miley has good stuff, but he's a tempo pitcher. Wilson has been wild for a couple years, and he's the kind of pitcher this lineup is supposedly built to mash, but never does.
  15. I don't know how I didn't know that, but I certainly concur. f*** the Yanks and f*** the Jackos who root for 'em.
  16. I'm sorry, but the ESL guy just has to ask: The f***'s that mean??
  17. I was actually going to post this again this morning. How you get shut out by CJ Wilson is beyond me.
  18. TJ surgery, see ya in 2017.
  19. Above-average contact rates too.
  20. What are you even talking about? This is a serious question. The argument initially hinged on whether Hernandez was valuable as part of a trade package. What was talked about was industry views and projectability. You are taking what people say and essentially making up a conclusion all by yourself. Just because you're "results oriented" doesn't mean that when discussing a kid as part of a trade another team is going to want him as part of a package because he's hitting well right now. There are several concepts regarding project valuations that you purposefully skip on, yet have the gall to talk about "credibility". What credibility? We're just a bunch of people killing time on a message board. However, you could try to be more informed in your arguments, and not come up with lame-duck arguments like this one.
  21. Fair enough, actually. In terms of development, the only thing Rodriguez had over Owens was velocity.
  22. No it wasn't. Where did you see that reported? Because for all intents and purposes Rodriguez hadn't harnessed his control enough to be more projectable than Owens. That happened after he came to the Red Sox organization.
