  1. ....or make him keep his weight in an acceptable range. Either or. I'd rather they move him and bring Hanley back to the IF.
  2. Castillo looking like he, you know, doesn't suck, but merely had not played a lot of baseball for a significant amount of time.
  3. Looking at Ortiz' numbers....we should have all learned by now never to doubt Papi.
  4. My team put up 38 total bases tonight. That has to be some sort of record.
  5. Batting average is probably the absolutely worst way to measure soomeone's ability to be a lead-off hitter.
  6. I don't think some of you understand what the word "fluke" actually means.
  7. I do, to an extent. Mainly because Lucchino is gone, and what the FO was doing with all of their meddling clearly wasn't working. Use the definition of insanity to justify this one.
  8. DD has never been able to competently build a BP though.
  9. He was given total baseball-related move autonomy, per his conttract demands. So there's that.
  10. Move Panda, put Hanley (who can at least hit) back at 3B.
  11. This board usually has a "consensus" on negativity-driven opinions, no news there. The whole "2013 was a fluke" angle is nonsense. He made solid moves that worked out for that particular season and should get credit for it. The fact that they didn't work out afterwards is an entirely different set of circumstances.
  12. A lot of DD's more "high-profile" moves were Ilitch driven. I lived in Michigan at the time of the Fielder signing, and DD publicly stated in a visit to WMU that he didn't think the team needed Fielder (or any other high-profile FA) at the time.
  13. I've actually thought about that scenario, and bringing Shields in (as long as it's not with the expectation that he'll be what he was a couple years ago) makes sense.
  14. I'm still not mad about them not bringing Lester back. But why the f*** did they sign Fatass? I just don't get it.
  15. I said this over and over throughout the offeason and the beginning of the season and was lambasted for it. He's an excellent utility player, but not a regular. Some guys just tire out or get exposed.
  16. They're going to mix him up with some analytical guys to see if they can recreate what they had in the Epstein era. This could be a great thing or it could blow up in their face.
  17. I am dead serious with this question.....did Porcello f*** your gf or something?
  18. Thanks for 2013, Cherington. Farrell and the coaching staff should follow suit. They also better goddamn have someone manage DD's BP assembly. His ineptitude at building a bullpen is the only reason he doesn't have multiple rings.
  19. Have you seen the scoring on some of these "errors"? I have to heartily disagree here.
  20. How are you this stupid? Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.
  21. You and the other idiot can't stop reading my posts. I'm must read material. LOL! Also, I'll say what I want, cocksmokers.
  22. If iortiz says you're correct, you need to reevaluate your opinion.
  23. Thinking about Dontrelle Willis made me think about some of those other pitchers like Ben Sheets who were dominant for a while but fell off the map for one reason or the other. Longevity is hard to achieve in MLB.
  24. Don't make me go down (up?) there.
