  1. One of the rare times I agree with a700, meaning he's absolutely, 100% right.
  2. I was about to post the same thing. Again, Hanley and Panda at the corners is probably what's best for the Sox for next year.
  3. Hanley and Panda at the corners is probably the best course of action.
  4. I remember saying here that the compact stroke he had was conducive to a lot of line drives and a good BA if he could control the strike zone a little better (remember Spud). Not glad I was right. Then again, Bogaerts is pretty good in his own right.
  5. The issue here isn't assigning blame. The issue is that whatever the Red Sox are doing is not working. For me, the buck starts and stops at Cherington, (just to clarify, even if it contradicts my earlier statement a bit) as I personally believe this team is playing way below its talent level, and that is a coaching staff issue. A coaching staff endorsed and assembled by Cherington.
  6. Jacko usually defeats what are otherwise correct points with a wad of ********. Miley has also been pretty good after a horrendous April.
  7. Multi-millionaire baseball players aren't cookie-cutter employees making minimum wage.
  8. That was me. It only makes sense.
  9. And he's been pretty decent for a while now. I like Miley, and think he will improve further.
  10. But they still both sucked. To be honest, I thought they'd both somewhat improve, because Larry R. is a miracle worker, but Detroit's D is just so goddamned bad.
  11. Kelly vs McHugh For the love of all that is decent, win a f***ing ballgame!
  12. But that's the point. It's a matter of who has sucked less. Not an ideal strategy for bragging rights if you ask me.
  13. Shields, for me, is still a terrible f***ing idea (90 ERA+). But they had other options, clearly.
  14. You may, you may not. We shall see.
  15. So, did you predict Porcello's downfall as a Red Sox then? And you seem to forget how much you've f***ing whined about Eovaldi all season long. Give it a rest.
  16. We also made a sig bet in the predictions thread about the Yankees being a top-10 offense. They're sitting at fourth, but let's wait until the season's over so we can see if both our sigs have to change.
  17. I didn't "buy the propaganda". I hated the Sandoval signing, but legitimately liked most of the other moves. I was banging the Masterson drum waaaay before they signed him, and agreed with Spud's prediction of Cespedes-for-Porcello and said I would have liked it. I'm also a big fan of Miley from when he was in Arizona. That's not the real issue though, the real issue is the mediocre hitting the Red Sox have exhibited this season, which is something nobody can explain. So stop it with the chest banging, nostradouchebag. I get your trolling here, but I've always been consistent in my idea that this isn't a whining outlet, and I've been here for almost six years, so you know this, and you know this well. Don't be an idiot.
  18. By pure luck, as Eovaldi has still sucked.
  19. No matter the reason, lefties average a full 3 MPH less on their fastball than righties. That's not theory, that's fact.
  20. Lots of chest pounding from people here regarding predictions they didn't make. That's the "real s***" right there.
  21. Wagner counts, he came up as a starter who could sit upper 90's, and was converted to a reliever after he had a ton of IP as a starter under his belt.
  22. Explain how you can build a good team without players who can put up good stats. The "*******s" will blast you because your assertion is senseless. 2004 was a team of mercenaries with good stats.
  23. What would you be saying if they were in first right now?
  24. But there's no need to be a condescending, insufferable prick about it. (Not saying you are, but there are some here who are) Apparently not.
