  1. You had to bring up Cherington here too? Jesus Christ. By the way, in my opinion, if Shoeless Joe Jackson, who has been exonerated by investigations regarded the Black Sox scandal, is not admitted into the HOF, Rose should not get in either. There needs to be some consistency regarding HOF standards. Either you let no cheater in (and that should include people who used greenies, and several users are in the HOF), steroids, or gambled, or you let them all in.
  2. Because I can. And because I want to read other people's opinions. And why is this such a big deal to you? I created a thread about a baseball topic in a baseball website, as per the website's intended purpose.
  3. They need another starter. Buch and Kelly are both very fragile.
  4. What Kimmi's trying to say here is, that if the Sox don't have the pieces to contend by adding Price, then Henry doesn't fork over the cash. If the core in place sucks so bad that a Price signing makes no sense, they wouldn't have made that humongous financial commitment. Now, the fact that Price was publicly interested in the state of the Sox' MLB and MiLB rosters just adds weight to the argument. It makes perfect sense.
  5. Because it's a baseball forum, and this is a baseball related matter. Much better than the "discussion" regarding Ben Cherington if you ask me.
  6. At least you can count on Porcello actually taking the ball every fifth day.
  7. Do you now see why I made my initial post? I said it was prime bait fuel, and what you're responding to is what I meant. I rest my case.
  8. Elktonnick and Palodios care too. But seriously, let it go.
  9. Why is the Cherington discussion still a thing though? I mean, by all accounts, continue with this baseball related conversation, but in reality, no one's going to budge on their positions. Then again, no one has to be an ******* about it. Calling others derogatory terms because they like the guy and think he got a raw deal is prime flame fuel.
  10. Sandoval's signing was the worst move of Cherington's entire tenure. His offensive decline was a trend. Why sign two 3B then move the one who can actually hit to another position?
  11. How are you this bad at logical connections?
  12. DD having more power than Cherington is not speculation, it is fact. He holds a position with inherently more power, and complete authority over baseball operations was a sticking point of his negotiations with the Red Sox.
  13. Wasn't it widely reported that one of the first things David Price asked before putting ink to paper was the status of the Sox' farm system? They had to give him a rundown of both the MLB and MiLB roster, and he specifically asked about Benintendi. Let's just ignore the news that don't suit our arguments! Also, Craig Kimbrel.
  14. Haven't you been posting here for a while now? Whining about the FO in general and Ben's "incompetence" was the daily grind on this website. If "no one here dislikes Ben", why have so many pages of this thread been devoted to defending him?
  15. That's not the point. I'm very happy to have Dombrowski on board. As I stated before, I've been a fan of his work and got to watch his magic up close while I lived in Michigan. That said, I don't understand all of the hate towards BC.
  16. Well if they're like you, then yeah.
  17. Well played, sir. Well played.
  18. "For a few?" They won in 2013!
  19. All aboard the Kazmir bandwagon.
  20. Oh yes. Winning this one.
  21. Why would it be? The only real weakness scouts consistently point out is pitch calling, which is the one thing the dugout can control for a young catcher. He got rushed last year, and spent most of his early action with a "deer in headlights" look. He'll be fine.
  22. ...in an SSS. Your homerism, which had mostly been absent for a while, shows in spades here. Let's let the guy play a little before we anoint him the worst or best at anything.
