I agree. Ben either misread the market for DH's or ownership cut the legs out from under him ( yet again) with the luxury tax limitation.

Several weeks ago, I posted elsewhere that Ben reminded of the story of the jackass who died of starvation because he was midway between two bales of hay and couldn't make up his mind which to eat from. At what point does delibration become indecision?

I think there is ample evidence that Youk and some of his team mates have issues. The reporters who are speaking on this are highly respected and ones who have been quite reliable in the past. Regardless, I don't see anyway the Sox can obtain a major League ready starter without trading a major league position player starter. The only one likely to bring anything in return is Youklis.

I agree. I think trading Youk is the only move that is likely to net a major league starter in return. I suspect the Red Sox will be talking to the Braves. Plus I think from a clubhouse perspective Youk may have some baggage that may make moving him desireable.

Congratulations. One of your better and more cogent posts. I can actually agree to most of it. Just to set the record straight. I believe in stats and use proprietary analytical performance measures daily. I just don't place the emphasis on them to the extent that some here do. I will discredit them when they are overstated as they were above.. For me everything is in context. Mediocrity is a relative term. But we have had this discussion before.
