I agree they over exposed the hiring process making BC look foolish in the process. How does that help anything?

Whether Valentine is the next mgr or not is still be decided. What just happened is more important Lucchino et al just publically castrated their General Mgr.

BC's creds with his peers just suffered a body blow. There is an old saying " Never talk to the monkey when the organ grinder is in the room."

Schilling made the point that the team whose openning day rotation makes the most starts during the course of the year tends to win the division. The point is it is all about injuries. Assuming that all five starters magically go the year without missing a turn it's two games or less than one per starter. Injuries are the overriding factor.

I for one see no useful role for these sideline reporters in any sport male or female. For some reason the networks including NESN feel this need to cut away from the game so some sideline reporter can interject some nonsense like what there is to eat at some ball park that I'm never going to visit. I want to watch baseball not eye candy.

Dale Sveum certainly has the above: neither secret formula nor any rare skill set. Wasn't he ther guy who lost track of the number of outs during the time he coached third?

Actually that's good advice for anyone in a leadership position. Not to be partisan, but isn't that the objective of everyone who currently holds elective office:D
