  1. You should know. You are backing away from your inuendos. That's what you do. You make outrageous overstatements. Accuse most experts who disagree with you of being idotis Then deny you do it. See below. Explain that! "Newsflash: Most analysts and bookies are idiots."Your post 7:13 pm "Hey i'm not saying anyone's an idiot." Your post:9:24 pm
  2. That not what you said but okay if you want to amend your remarks Ok. I understand!
  3. With all due respect who the hell are you? Everyone is an idiot but you? Talk about abandoning logic! It is good to stand by your opinion but come on, don't insist that it is illogical or insignificant what the Angels and Rangers have done!
  4. Based on the professional evaluation of talent, Nolan Ryan doesn't spend 50 million dollars not to improve. He doesn't spend 50 million dollars on a hunch. It is not baseless conjecure as you contend but rather the informed opinion of a highly schooled and experienced professional. Unproven is simply inaccurate in this case. There is ample evidence to prove to experienced highly skilled professionals that run the Texas Rangers that Darvish is and will be a signiificant improvement. That fact that an unskilled amatuer disagrees with that assessment doesn't refute the reality that Darvish improves the Rangers significantly and the Red Sox have made no such corresponding countermove to offset it. And are worse off as a result.
  5. Of course he does. Improved Texas and Angels teams mean that it will be harder for the Red Sox to make the playoffs.
  6. I am talking about when he was on first. He clearly wasn't as quick.
  7. No logic doesn't dictate that. That is the classic fallacy of the a priori assumption. Baseball and sport are full of examples of impact players during their first year. The Japanese leagues while not the majors are 4 A at least. Darvish isn't Dice-K but Dice-K in 2007 won 15 games and the Red Sox won the World series. If that is drinking Kool Aid then make mine grape.
  8. If!! That's the point the sox have no margin for error. Their starting LF is going to miss openning day and they haven't started spring training yet. The team is older and with health question marks galore. Most of their position players have health concerns. There are questions whether their bull pen is deeper. They don't have a 4 and 5 starter. Their nbr 3 starter is coming off an injury, their "ace" ended the year out of shape. Those are the facts.
  9. No it isn't. Just because he hasn't pitched in the major leagues yet doesn't mean he wasn't a significant upgrade. Virtually every major baseball reporter and expert recognizes it as such. You don't get to define the terms of the discussion or what is consequential.
  10. Lou Merloni made exactly that same point. The only people suggesting moving him to RF are folks on baseball forums. I haven't seen any pro writers making that suggestion.
  11. You may not think so but Darvish is an upgrade. He may be technicaally a rookie but he is the real deal. He certainly better than anyone we have signed. Most Sports Reporters and most analysts rate them as: LA, NY, Tex The sox have not improved but have diminished. I was just repeating what the smart money is saying. We aren't going anywhere with this club as presently constituted. We can hope but you bet with your head not with your heart.
  12. I have to disagree with your first point,. I recall several times analysts making comments about Crawford playing too deep. While he looked bad coming in, IMO it was because he played too far back. He played too far back because he was afraid of the wall. I forget who but one of the Sox former players made a comment that it appeared to him that Crawford hadn't paced off how many steps to the wall from given points. He seemed not know where he was in relation to the wall. When he got close to the wall the old fashioned scoreboard really bothered him. You could see it on his face. (Thanks to HD and Big Screen TVs)
  13. Several days ago I checked Jpoe Tecci's web site. I understand they just closed. Sad if true. Great veal!
  14. Theo maybe gone but reprtedly it was baseball operations who supported bringing Crawford on board. Many, if not all are still there. More importantly if they knew about the injury a while ago why did they wait until January to schedule the operation. Cherrington was there then. He is thre now. As they used to say during Watergate (long before your time I know) What did he know? and when did he know it?
  15. There is speculation out there that this injury may portend a long term problem with the wrist. Does anyone know how he injured the wrist in the first place?
  16. I agree 100%. Why was this not discovered sooner? Secondly, how did he injury the wrist? Was he hit by a ball? Did he fall awkwardly? Is it from overuse or does this portend a more serious long term problem? If this were my money, I be demanding some answers, especially if I were the owner who opposed this signing in the first place.
  17. I don't know but his numbers compare pretty close to David Price. He had a bad August which set his numbers back. Doesn't miss bats means he pitches to contact which is not bad in and of itself. Jurrjens is young and cheap if you are worried about lux tax.
