  1. For me this is a tough one. I will be the first to admit that I am not an expert on the ins and outs of our baseball club. However based on what I know and have heard/seen, Pedroia is one of the more harder working members of the club. I would think it it would be in the best interest at this point to keep more positive players like Pedroia. Yes he is starting to have a mouth but I wouldn't just be that quick to be so open to trade him yet. I guess at this point Im thinking more from a PR stand point then anything else. @Elktonnick As much as it pains me to say this I do see your point as well.
  2. I agree about the starting position but you dont think that he could get back to where he was as a reliever? As a reliever he wasnt the best but he wasn't really the worst either. I wouldn't mind seeing him back to where he was before. Not sure who is to really blame for idea of him becoming a starter but yeah that was a f***ing disaster.
  3. Very true. Um....who did we get for him anyway. Not that it would matter at this point.
  4. Just heard on the Big O show on WEEI that if the Red Sox dont sweep Baltimore they are pretty much done in trying to get a wild card slot.
  5. I would actually rather NOT rehash 1989 thank you very much.
  6. R.I.P. Johnny you were always a true Red Sox and will be missed very much.
  7. Yes I think your right on that. It just sometimes feels that when the FO actually makes statements it doesnt really do them justice. Maybe using "knew" was too strong of a word. I know we tend to maybe over react at times (I know I am very quilty of that).
  8. @Rdsxmbnt What about Dice-K though? Or would you be assuming he would be gone in addition to Beckett?
  9. I think what really scares me the most about the this whole situation is that we (the fans) all knew the season was a bust during Spring Training. How can we (again the fans) know more about the players then the actual management? I just don't get it. There is no way any team would want to touch any player that has worn the Sox uniform unless we gave up prospects but then that would kill us too wouldn't it?
  10. And the hits just keep on comin. Damn just when I was starting to hope for something when he came back and now he is out for the season. Now what?
  11. Is it possible that we could just bring up the team from Pawtucket and just switch the teams. At this point the Paw Sox couldn't do any worse right? Heck maybe even win a few more then the team we got right now. Just a thought.
  12. Great just great, 9-3 and yet another game that we have lost.
  13. Yeah that really really sucked the big one last night. Didn't we just get WMB back from the disabled list and now this happens. Anyway I just hope Buccholz can keep it up. Um...it would also help if our bats were hot as well but thats for another thread.
  14. Thats a very good point.
  15. I know we are all tough on our pitchers but as of right now I would put Buccholz in the ace position. Out of all of them he has been the most consistent. How can any of us defend the other pitchers with their performances? Buccholz seems to be getting it together. Its a hell of alot more then I can say for almost anyone else on this team.
  16. I dont know why Im so stuck on trying to stick it out with Lester. I feel like if we got rid of the so called poison in the club house maybe he would get better on the mound. I think Lester has been very influenced by Beckett and Lackey. On another note maybe we could get something (and I mean this in a very loose term) for Dice-K?
  17. Yeah I watched Felix win as well. It was pretty much the highlight of my TV viewing. Unfortunatley I dont see our team so called "winning gold for the forseeable future.
  18. Oops, sorry I made the top post without reading the "who would you have let go on the team" thread" first.
  19. Ok ok. So he is with us the rest of this season. Main question of the whole season: Is Beckett back with us next season, yes or no? I say no. Anyone else?
  20. The team has the talent (they always had). Its the way their attitudes are going into each game (I figure). One can only hope that there is a turninig point and they go on good run to beat some of the better teams. They can do it I think its a question of if they really "want it" at this point. BV will keep doing his thing.
  21. I was thinking...you know how they do that town meeting thing in the off season with the FO? They should do one before the season starts (like they always do I think). Then they should do one like in mid-season to really see how the fans think their team is doing. The FO would really get a sense of just how the fan base really thinks of them. That way we would be in THEIR FACE so to speak and get real answeres. Then again right after the season as well. I don't know its just a thought.
  22. We have the team from Pawtucket for a reason. Are any of our pitchers down there good enough to try for a start in Fenway?
  23. In this case it seems as though we are just stuck with him then. And if we are then what could the FO do to change him to be more consistent (minus the injuries of course)
  24. I didn't really understand this trade either. I forget who we sent over to get Valencia but comparing numbers between both players it would seem like the Twins got the better deal. Also I thought we had just about solved our third base issue, no?
  25. What about Beckett for the Phillies' Cliff Lee? aren't they looking to unload him or has that changed?
