    A 2 year contract doesnt seem like a real lot to do anything real with a team (especially in our case). Why only the 2 years? I would say keep BV until his contract is up that way I feel it would be more justified in getting rid of him if they really felt the need to.

    Especially if they are thinking of trading him I dont think any team would take him until he got the surgery right. @mvp 78 Do you think a strong finish would make a difference even if he gets it? I would assume there wouldnt be any value until then. But Im not sure how these trade issues work out Im just speculating here.

    I think its still too soon to say. Dont get me wrong I feel that he is slowley getting better and yesterday was pretty good. Still I would love to see more actual wins from him as well.

    This is one reason why I hate watching the Sox-Yanks games on Fox or for that matter any game. I really cant stand Fox at all. They suck!!!!

    I would assume the earlier the better just for the sake of healing time. But who knows why the FO would want to put off giving the ok for so long.

    I love how the Fox commentaters just compared the Sox to Facebook! Saying "If the Red Sox were stock it would be Facebook." Thats just great. Damn how low can a team go? I hope we win, I don't care how ugly it would look.

    Would you have your starting rotation be the order that you listed above? Would you have Buchholz starting at the top? Just asking?

    But even when he has it and given the seriousness of the surgery would he even be ready for the start of next season? I mean Lackey had it and he is still out as well.

    Do you guys think it made a difference that Lackey was the pitcher that beat us in '08 in game 7 to knock us out of the playoffs to get to the world series, and thats why the FO signed him?

    @The Village Idiot, Your recape of the last couple of years for this organization is probably the best description of why the Sox are in the state they are today. I forgot that Lackey came to us in '09. Damn its been that long? Anyway good job on that, put that way everything does make sense. (well not really but you know what I mean.)

    I would have a lot more respect for the FO if they would just come out and say "Ok this is not the season we had in mind. We can try and have this and next season be a building period". What would be the harm in saying something like that to the "Nation"? In a way it would somewhat cover theirs and the team's ass for doing such a lousy job game wise. Or am I thinking too much out of the box here?
