  1. Need to stop trying to knock the ball out of the park for one thing.
  2. The Tigers have great pitching not historic pitching. The Sox at plate so far have been a historic fail.
  3. Now the Tigers are obviously just going to pitch around Ortiz...probably for the rest of the series
  4. Like Brennan said about making adjustments...I think this team is being challenged in a way that they really have not been challenged all season. The plan has been the same game in and game out. Granted, the Tigers pitching has been outstanding. But the Sox are allowing the Tiger pitchers to lead them around by the nose and so far they just don't seem to be able to make the adjustments needed.
  5. Buch is so far pitching a bit better than Jon was last night. Lost in everything was the fact that Jon was far from having his best stuff last night. That was a tremendously gutty pitching performance more than it was a masterful pitching performance.
  6. I don't have a problem with sitting Naps...he looked beyond terrible last night.
  7. No doubt Pedey is going to try to physically lift this team onto his shoulders...just hope it does make things worse for him at the plate.
  8. The growing trend of playing into the pitcher's hands seems to be continuing for the Sox as opposed to the Tigers taking immediate action vs Buch. So far at least for the Sox, that is the story of this series...inability or unwillingness to adapt.
  9. Buch is in the middle of the plate with everything suddenly. Not going to get anybody out that way. DP ball hit right at Drew fortunately.
  10. Scherzer is tough with two strikes.
  11. Man I love it when Buch is throwing like he was in the 1st. Take heart Sox. Jump on Cy Scherzer.
  12. Wow Brennan...I don't think I would have the patience to gameday it even as much as I hate these Fox clowns.
  13. That was a horrid hitting performance. This is a team that is supposed to talk to each other in the dugout and figure this out. What were they talking about....how lousy West is as an ump? I can tell what they should have been telling each other... To stop trying to time off speed stuff thrown by an off speed master totally on his game last night. That 95 mph FB was flat as a pancake last night. The Sox should have been sitting for that pitch instead of swinging at so much garbage. They spent most of the night foolish complaining about calls. You players expect me to believe that you knew what was a ball and what was a strike while you are hacking away at stuff you could not hit with a boat oar? Get real. It took till the 6th inning for Nava and Pedey to have two good AB's. They were just walks but at least they had stopped swinging at that garbage and it earned Drew two good FB's to swing at. He did nothing with them but they were meatballs. Unfortunately they had fouled themselves up so much by the 6th inning that they could no longer even do anything with a meatball. Smarten up Sox. These games don't swing big. These games turn based on margins for error that are tiny when you compare them to the regular season. Hopefully they do what they have done in the regular season and put this stinker behind them.
  14. So many parts of the Sox game were off tonight. Never got on track against Sanchez on the offensive end and Ross and Lester kept going back to that curve. Every time he threw it was bad news. He was catching too much of the plate and hung it most of the time. He was getting away with it but guys were lining out and just hitting the ball foul until ******* Peralta. But he really never threw it good once the whole night. A great pitching effort by Jon really fouled by going back to one pitch that he just could not throw tonight. A great game but we played much like we did against the Rays. As many of us have said, that won't get it done against the Tigers. Can't expect these games to end up monster ass whippings one way or the other. You win or you lose on a very thin margin for error....thats it. The Tigers did play a near perfect game tonight though and I don't expect them to pull that off throughout the series. We are still a better team to be playing tight, grind it out games like this. Come back tomorrow and get it done.
  15. Well OK, I never thought we would be 2-0 leaving Boston. Gotta come back and win tomorrow.
  16. Great play Drew...do this thing Sox
  17. Do the Sox actually think all this talking to West accomplishes anything other than making West more of an ******* than he already is?
  18. Come on get out of this....I don't know why but I really feel like we can come back and win this game if we can just get outta' this inning
  19. I just don't understand how West gets here if it is all supposed to be based on merit. I can't blame what has happened tonight on West particularly but how does he "merit" getting here? Are the rest of the umps so bad that he still rates as one of the top twelve umps in baseball? Must be....how else would he be here?
  20. Sox still have a shot here...Tigers pen is well capable of turning into a pumpkin at any time. As long as we can hold them we have a good shot in spite of what has happened to this point.
  21. If they were sitting FB it would not have mattered. They never were and just kept swing at s*** all night long.
  22. This has been exasperating. Took too long to change up on Sanchez. First time through the order should have been enough for them to figure out what to do...not a couple of guys into the 6th inning. But they are still in the game and they finally get a shot at the pen. Considering how bad Sanchez made them look, could hardly ask for more.
