  1. So why did't NESN show us the Rosario called swing from the base line camera. Lately NESN is just getting under my skin.
  2. Sandy is catching a lotta' games. If they can stretch out a lead that allows for it, even expecting Vaz back they have to cut Sandy back down the stretch. He is going to turn into a pumpkin at this rate.
  3. They have to keep JBJ in CF and take what they get at the plate which is why always thinking OPPO is the right thing for him to do in spite of how vulnerable that is going to make him against post season pitching. They also need to keep JD out of the Fenway OF and just use him in the "safer" OF's around baseball so that he won't have to knock buckets of rust off if they ever do get out of the AL this year.
  4. No idea and lately Remy only really points out the miscues of the opponent. He simply ignores many of them from the Sox side of things. Anybody in the park today know what happened there cause that did look really strange.
  5. I am afraid that is what they will do to JBJ late in the season and post season in tight spots.
  6. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF 3. J.D. Martinez ® DH 4. Steve Pearce ® 1B 5. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF 6. Eduardo Nunez ® 2B 7. Blake Swihart (S) 3B 8. Brock Holt (L) SS 9. Sandy Leon (S) C
  7. Couple weeks ago covering 2nd base. I do think he has played since then. It might still be sore though
  8. Earth to rafi...you are a LH batter up against a RH pitcher. Swing the bat.
  9. As long as he pays head to the golden 2018 JBJ rule....GO OPPO, he has every chance to ultimately have a decent 2018 by the end. However, we must bear in mind that he has no shot at anything on the inner 3rd of the plate whether he is trying to go oppo or not as we could plainly see by the Rodney AB, bases loaded the other night. I am sort of amazed that he has finally after a few instances of trying to go back to his usual AB's after oppo success he appears now to have finally gotten the message that going oppo is really all he can do from where he is today. Once we get to the post season I am not really sure what JBJ will do. But for now, he has to keep going oppo to have any shot at anything at all.
  10. Not to mention costing you the lead in the 9th inning
  11. Trying to keep my bullpen complaints to a minimum lately. But do we really think this is a post season bullpen?
  12. As for the last game in Baltimore, keep in mind that MLB execs are too stupid to do anything sinister or coordinated on purpose and pull it off. I will bet anything that the O's dragged that crowd into the "Yards" last night to sell them beer and peanuts and hot dogs and started the game (their choice at that point). Then waited as long as they could but by 10:30 realized that no matter what they did, whatever crowd was there was not going to be buying much more beer and whatnot and the souvenir business must have been hideous last night. So by 10:30 they said to themselves, we aren't going to sell anything at this hour. We are going to have to pay to keep the place open and oh by the way we are down 5 zip...so they sent the head groundskeeper out to the umps to day "boy I don't like this...I don't think we can get this one in fella's. Lets call the game!!!!!! The umps were in no mood to argue and that was that. Would bet anything that is exactly how it went.
  13. I have seen Gibson with a good Sinker before but his Slider tonight is the best Slider I have seen from him ever i think.
  14. He does get an RBI. They boys in the booth are right for a change. That was a bad base running play with Beni, a LH hitter waiting in the wings to face Gibson and JBJ already on 2nd base.
  15. This pen is not in the same league as some of the other post season pens. If this pen survives deep into a post season run it will be with a massive assist from the rotation.
  16. Well the MFY would have to fall apart completely not to make the play in game. I don't see that over a lousy 60 odd games down the stretch especially now that they have Britton and I don't like them picking up Happ either. Our problem going into post season is that there are better pens in the AL than what we can muster and we don't have the juice to really upgrade there. I think DD will have no choice but to try to bring in somebody and see if he catches lighting in a bottle.
  17. That pitch was Remy's fault. Pom could hear Remy singing and nearly had heart failure on the mound. Why does NESN do this stuff.
  18. The way this O's team has played the last month, they are beaten before they take the field. But before that, my God how do players with this much talent play this badly? I do wonder about whether old man Buck has fought the whole launch angle approach and has gotten them so completely flummoxed that they are just a mess. They are struggling with it. I have not seen this many half way between old and new swing approaches on one team this year.
  19. I would simply do away with the advance shift. That is easily enough done. Its the advanced shift that is an abomination.
  20. I can place the teams chock full of old broken down players....Like the Jays and there are the teams that are too young for their own good (don't tell anybody but the Yankees are one of those). But I can't place this O's team for its record and its players. They have some broken down old bodies but not enough to say its that. They are putting their guys out on the field and they don't seem all that broken down yet. They just...... I don't know what!!
  21. The O's are so oblivious I think they are not sure if they are even in the batters box.
  22. This team is a real enigma. I wonder if the O's as a team have just not adapted to this launch angle baseball. They are definitely trying it and they are definitely failing.
  23. That was a presentable 1st inning for Pom.
  24. Oh my God look at those stands. I know the weather is bad. But Holy Cow. There were those years in the early and mid-60s when black and white TV telecasts were just lighting up. We often refer to them fondly as "the Horace Clark years". They were the years after the great Yankee team years when the league had really just been a farm team for the MFY's. Then came the Horace Clark years and they were pitiful. If the Yankees were pitiful at that time you can imagine what everybody else was. If you were a kid then and did not have the experience of the glory years of baseball you could easily convince yourself that nobody really went to baseball games. "Everybody must be watching on TV" because there was nobody in the ballparks and you loved baseball. So the gate can't be a reflection on the game. Everybody must love baseball. In truth it was a very very bad time and almost killed MLB. Average attendance around 10k fans. So you can just imagine what some of those parks looked like if the average across everybody and every game was 10k! some of those games struggled to get 3k people in the gate.
  25. I just hope the weather is nothing like last night. That was like Florida weather. Starts raining and in less than a minute its a downpour. That will not be a good weather circumstance for Pom, a guy just making his first start back up. He needs the weather to hold off.
