  1. I don't know what Rick said to stay in the game. But I would not have had any of that. That fell apart way too fast and he was throwing batting practice. My God he was throwing college batting practice.
  2. I know I am a worry wart about pitchers. But I didn't like any of that.
  3. He doesn't even have a out for God sake. I know we can score with this chump team. But I am worried now that Rick will hurt himself out there throwing weird like this.
  4. For God sake...there are about three guys on this entire team you have to worry about and Smouk is one of them.
  5. Just another fine AL baseball team these Blue Jays...Can't pitch, can't field. Most of the roster is a bunch of broken down old war horses who's best days are behind them or that never really had any best days that can barely take the field for half a season.
  6. Keep going oppo JBJ...just keep going oppo.
  7. Not trying to make excuses for Martin or any fielder playing in Fenway, but I do notice our infield seems a bit more irregular than many of the natural turf fields around baseball. I see more balls come up on weird hops off our field than almost anywhere else. I don't know if its the clay mix we use or the foundation under the clay or the temp and humidity here. But its enough different for me to have noticed it over the years. We just get a crazy amount of weird hops here.
  8. Beni is something of a throwback to a time when people actually tracked how OFers played in the three OF positions instead of just saying "well he is an OFer" which is what they do now for the most part. Beni is actually a terrific LFer. He is not much of a CFer or a RFer. But I would take him in my LF over just about any contemporary OFer and would absolutely take him over everybody else in Fenway LF.
  9. At least JD didn't fall down.......just barely didn't
  10. Just checked it. This is Martin's 62nd game AT 35 years old!
  11. Poor Martin. I wonder how many games he has played this year. They have him playing all over the place because most of their broken down old player corp just does not play that often. Not catching is considered a night off for Martin.
  12. Eck thinks The Shortstop had second thoughts and blew the throw. Baseball player....second thoughts???? There's your problem right there.
  13. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Brock Holt (L) 2B 3. J.D. Martinez ® LF 4. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 5. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 6. Eduardo Nunez ® 3B 7. Sam Travis ® DH 8. Sandy Leon (S) C 9. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF
  14. Cora likes this sink or swim stuff with the pen. But I still believe this is really an expression of Cora's confidence in the offense. He simply believes we will chew up these pens and just outscore the other guys.
  15. Dumb-asses. Keep your hands on the other side of the wall.
  16. That was truly ridiculous. If the hitter is just the right height and the pitcher has a particular release point that matches up to the hitter's view angle, the ball can look like it is coming out of the pitchers jersey or in Happ's case there I think more likely looked to Mookie like the ball is coming out of Happ's cap. It is a ridiculous disadvantage to the hitter and is actually scary at times. The ball is on you before you know it. To have worked his way out of that....in that manner....I have actually never seen that before. And its not more than being old as dirt and seen tons of baseball either from a bench or TV or in the stands....for ME not to have seen something before....just ridiculous. Cherish that one folks. If there is ever something you may never see again....THAT's IT.
  17. Unbelievable AB from Mookie. He starts the AB unable to pick up Happ's release point and ends the AB crushing the baseball. That is legend stuff.
  18. Funny but eck is right I think. Mookie is not seeing Happ's release point. Muat look like the ball is coming right out of his cap to mookie.
  19. Gotta hand it to him. No quit in nunny
  20. That does not sound encouraging for Pedey this year or any year. We have enough broken bodies limping around MLB. Pedey does not deserve to have that be the final few years of his career.
  21. NESN just provided the answer. I guess Devers is out at least for now.
  22. So does anybody know if that awkward slide by Devers has turned into more of an issue than it looked like?
  23. Please don't tell Price there is anything huge in this series. The last thing we want to tell him.
  24. Got a perfect deal for DD. Pedey and nunez for Strohman. Toronto would be falling all over themselves to make that deal. They have never seen a broken down on his last legs or mending from his multiple injuries player they didn't like. Team is chock full of them. Geez Toronto would probably throw money into the deal to pull it off. Pedey has got trade clauses to deal with. But what the heck. Toronto will beg him to come.
