Well I do all the time, so it's certainly conceivable.

Spieth with two in the water at 12, giving Danny Willett a two shot lead. Wow.
  3. I heard somewhere that going home cures cranium inside rectum syndrome 90% of the time.
  4. Well, it won't be a problem. That Donaldson home run might have sealed it for Pal.
  5. You should lock it up with a QS from Cueto.
  6. Young already has abs. Probably has a six pack of 'em.
  7. I've got some sweeping to do, how about you?
  8. I say we drop this until we stop winning.

Well, after day 3, if I told you I didn't want to see Smylie give Spieth a good run for his money, I'd be lying to you.
  10. And he won't always get away with those.
  11. Down the road, and based on what I saw last year, I see Kelly as the one who can solidify himself and hone in towards success. It seems to me that he is too hard on himself. If he were to just relax and pitch, he can be okay, if not good, for that exact reason: velocity. He can work on his command, that's no problem.
  12. I think he's a good fit there to be honest with you. He would make a good long reliever. He's got the stuff, but leaving him in too long leads to the long balls. Nobody saw that in Detroit, with the massive outfield they have there. I don't think it will happen, unless we trade for another pitcher near the deadline, because right now, there's no one who could replace him that would be a better starter.
  13. Porcello is Porcello. We know he's gonna give up the big shots, but he's also gonna get ground balls. From what I've seen, our group of starters (as in, not Pablo) are wonderful defensively. Those infielders will make those plays on all the ground balls. It sucks that Porcello pitches at Fenway, the epitome of a hitter's park. If he can become a game manager and a strategist, he can pick his way around the plate, around the batters, and around the game. We need to limit the long ball, and make sure they aren't devastating (i.e. grand slams). The offense should be able to get the lead early, or come back from 1, 2, or 3 runs down early in the game. We'll see how it goes, and see how well Wright pitches, because it could be beneficial to move Porcello to the pen when E-Rod comes back.
  14. It seems as though Pal's got me this week. I'm still getting used to having a "normal offense," and not Donaldson, Harper, and Stanton.
  15. Both the Nats and the O's wimped out and postponed their games. They can't handle 40 degrees and occasional mixed precipitation? Pathetic. That's perfect baseball weather for me.
  16. Accurate representation of my feelings at the moment. Can't expect to comeback from every game.
  17. 161-1. I like the lineup. I'll like it even more if that middle and lower part of the order can produce, since Ortiz will likely be getting many rest days this year.

My coach likes to fish, and since Saturday is Opening Day for fishing around these parts, he gave us the weekend off. Fine by me. Two days of hogging the couch listening to Jim Nantz.
  19. I'm in my car. What's up with the delay? Rain?
  20. My offense isn't nearly as good as it was last year, but David Wright was on fire yesterday with 2 SB. Who knew he had it in him. Syndergaard looked pretty dominant yesterday.
  21. Goldy had a pretty good night for Arizona. My coach is distraught that AJ is basically out for the year, but he met Goldy at someone's wedding, and still roots for him.
  22. I meant that this was unlike him, it's going to be a one time thing.
  23. Keuchel's an ace. Can't expect to have a field day on him. Castro looked very impressive, seems like coming to NY gave him new life after his role with the Cubs had diminshed over the past year. If the bullpen doesn't come through for you in tie game situations, then you'll have some problems. We know that the pen with a lead is fine. Betances of course is so lights out. Even so, I bet things will stable out when Miller and Chapman get healthy. 3 runs in the 8th does not look good though, even if it is only day 1.
  24. Whenever anyone talks about obscure stats, my mind goes right to a clip of the movie Little Big League, where a 12 year old becomes the manager of the Twins. It's not about him, though, it's about the broadcasters and they're obscure stats, like Twins announcer John Gordon, making fun of the radio announcer's tendency to come up with crazy stats, like: "He’s eight for 13 this year, against left-handers, in night games, played above the Mason Dixon Line."
