  1. The Southie Fighting Yuppies are going to kick some serious ass this year
  2. I got it and I am in. I promise I will pay very shortly. Bad week for me at work
  3. More like the grind of waiting for documents to come in
  4. Well yeah, at least until I lost Bauer for the season
  5. Got an email about auto renewal. I'm definitely in for this year. Might not pay right away but I will definitely do so before games are played. You fellow accountants know the grind
  6. The news out of today sure is disappointing, but at the end of the day, there's nothing any of us can do about it, other than wait patiently for baseball. I fell back in love with the sport last year. It would have been great to potentially get to Fenway on Opening Weekend and hear the sounds of summer while also freezing my ass off, but life doesn't always work like that. In the meantime, I'll just keep dancing away the tax returns on my plate while dreaming about summer days of golf and summer evenings of baseball
  7. That time of year... Just got an email that Yahoo Fantasy Baseball is live for 2022. I say we wait until we actually know whether there will be a season
  8. I think all of America, outside of South Texas, just became Braves fans
  9. "Most" and "knowledgeable" being the operative words
  10. Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened
  11. How many of you thought this team would go nowhere this year? I did. I thought we would be fighting the Orioles for last. Ok, maybe not that bad, but I didn't see a way we could finish better than 3rd. I thought this was a rebuilding year, and I'm sure not many of you would have thought that the Red Sox would be one of the last 4 teams standing in October. So, in my book, this season was a success. Does it suck to lose a series after leading 2-1 and looking so unstoppable in Games 2 and 3? Absolutely. But, I remember saying last weekend that I was content no matter what happened because I didn't think we would be here. This season for me was a win, and unless you had the Red Sox winning the World Series in March, I suggest you look at it the same way, and take this season for what it was: A magic carpet ride that just ran out of gas at the end.
  12. We've had nothing to lose for most of the season. Nothing is different tonight
  13. I mean, I got us two walk offs and a trip to the ALCS. I wasn't going to do it because I've been crazy busy this week, but I thought I should at least throw it out there
  14. RHP Nate Eovaldi vs RHP Luis Garcia We got this. Can't win tomorrow if we don't win tonight. Nobody I would rather have on the hill
  15. Do we need some Thunder mojo for game 6?
  16. Pitch them until their arms fall off, and then pitch them some more.
  17. This is the way I see it: The goal is to split the first 2 games in Houston. Worst case scenario: Sale still doesn't have it, and Cora takes him out within 1 or 2 innings. Unless our bullpen blows up, we still have a shot to win game 1. Our offense is never out of it, especially the way they've been playing recently. Game 2 in Tampa is a prime example of that. I thought we were done after the Luplow grand slam. Even if we end up losing, we send our ace out to go win game 2. Certainly not a lock, but nobody else I would rather have there when we're down 1-0 in the series. Best case scenario: Sale returns to form, we steal game 1, and Nate gives us a great shot to take both games in Houston
  18. Not sure the end result of our season will influence Cashman's job status, but hey, welcome aboard anyway!
  19. TBD vs TBD (no relation) Let's do it. 4-3 or better in the next 7 will get the job done.
  20. Love that 10 key
  21. The Mets also won their most recent playoff series against the Yankees... Double whammy
  22. I was an extra virgin until freshman year of college
  23. It might have been somebody in my family, not a teacher. I can't remember. There is a varying level of education among my extended family, and a varying level of ego that is inversely related. I guess I was wrong. Both "very seldom" and "seldom" are acceptable, according to some quick internet research.
  24. It's actually been most of my fault. I like playing instigator. Life's more fun that way. Plus, it's helping me get through the last push of returns before our 10/15 deadline.
