  1. Hell, I would like to know how does it feel.
  2. Agree, in the worst scenario is likely you were committing/risking only 1 season, assuming Pap performs terrible 1 season and the other guy puts something around Pap's career numbers during his tenure. (Unlikely to me) Where is the risk more likely? on Pap or on this guy? IMO, on the other guy, he has not proved s*** in your environment. Again, Papelbon is already proved in your environment, is not injury prone, he is mature (not old, still young, experienced) and as I said, he has arguably been driving at Mo's highway (career). Hell, how much money have they wasted at FA? 1/4 BUSD?... and you will skimp and substitute your best piece in BP for this? and mostly, at this price?. As I said, You would be saving cents and spending dollars if this guy or other at this price (+-35/3) fails. They'd better put Bard, if the money was the driver (let Pap walks), otherwise I wouldn't get it.
  3. If everything goes right next year, I will be in Fenway Park for once and for all. Then, maybe I'll go to Arlington, Tx as well since it is the closets park from Monterrey. It's about 8-10 hours from here, driving.
  4. If he puts something around Colon's numbers will be interesting since he is 30 YO. Yes, I wouldn't pay him neither lot of money nor long term contract again. First, I need to see how good he performs.
  5. BTW if he comes back and put spectacular or at least solid numbers, will be interesting how the FO would be managing his case since he will be a FA in 2013. Plus He is 30.
  6. D-K is expected to return somewhen in June, isn't he? Yes, he is not reliable at this point, but maybe and just maybe, he could emerge and be a decent 4-5 or at least a good depth arm, in the second half of the season.
  7. I don't know him very much in order to emit an opinion, but after reading the posts from the old school guys of this forum, seems that he is the adequate guy, plus I just listened the press conference and he sounded genuine and even he has a lot road walked, he looked like he just got his first job, so... I feel kind of confident about his arrival.
  8. I just pictured that in my mind and If Tek is a fossil Wake is just in the process to become petroleum. LoL
  9. Actually he jokes almost all the time, the thing is that no many people see him that way.
  10. Pretty impressive ... the fans in Latin America are quite the same....
  11. Exactly. You would be saving cents and spending dollars.
  12. This is why not any reliever can be a closer, and specially in our environment. You already had the adequate in the position who had proved to have the mentality and mostly the balls to shut the tough games down. Bard is likely our future closer. IMO he is not ready. Yes, He has the stuff to make it. But not right now. They have to work with his mind. Probably the shut down spot is the job which takes the most pressure than any other in the roster. Reason why I think he is not ready to handle this kind of pressure, specially with an advantage of only 1-R . On the other hand and facing the facts, we let Papelbon walk, we are clogged in the books and we need to fill other spots, so... we must give him a shot... Today, I prefer seeing him as a closer than in our rotation. The result will be more painful if he doesn't make it as SP. We would see the same 2011 picture. IMO that transition has more risk. Again, and given the circumstances, IMO they should bring a solid SP and let Bard close the games. Now, if they think bust the LT, bring the entire pitching combo, SP, BP arms, closer and depth.
  13. Sure, sometimes the media is sensationalist, and yes, we do not have the entire picture or the exact context in order to emit an accurate opinion, but the more I read and the more I collect the pieces the more I believe that this organization is disfunctional in several areas but specially at our top management at least the last 3-4 years. There is the root of the problem. I've been saying that over and over again. I don't care if we play with Pawtucket, but if some divas do not want to be here, they better walk wherever they want, but please, stop hurting this team. This is not a country club in Cancun. This is the Boston Red Sox baseball. I hope BV stops this circus and let these divas know that this team will have some little changes around and will run pretty different from now. Call it the fascist era if you want, but you are going to perform and deliver for what you are paid for and you better put all in the field, I don't care how much you are making, I don't care if you are a FA next year, I don't care if you are dating Maddona, you don't Like it? Get out of here. Don't wanna train? Get out of here. Want more beer, chicken and Atari in the clubhouse ? Get out of here. Are you still being a cancer in the locker room? Get out of here. You are not welcome. We do not need you, whoever the name is the case.
  14. Well, in Mexico the passion for baseball is definetely a lot different than soccer. In baseball games, You can go with your family and buddies and have a great time. Some states like Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Baja Califorina, among others, the passion for baseball is awesome and the stadiums are often full of fans. I have never been in a MLB statdium, but here is not that fancy, here is more likely old school eviorement. Drinking rum, smoking cigars, while filling the baseball cards and hearing the organ and the sounds of the game, and mostly having great conversations about the game with your buddies and the people that surrounds you; the people at baseball parks are very friendly, if you ask me. A lot of old school guys in the parks. I like the eviorement. Haven't changed that much since I started to go (20 years).
  15. Yeah... That's exactly what I'm talking about. The fanatism goes beyond the game these days in soccer in our countries.
