I've been reading with more detail SS's posts and I still don't understand all this crusade and bullying against him. While he talks about baseball (you can agree or disagree), posters attack him. This must stop. If they do not like his posts, ignore him.

hahahah oh jacko boy, in other words we are screwed up, aren't we? hahaha I expect a close race. I do not see a clear favorite, In fact any team can win the ALE IMO. I fully expect a 90-91 wins next year. Sure, I do not expect to be the best Offense again, but it will produce a lot of runs again. JBJ, XB and WM will be ok. Napoli, Pedroia, Vic and Ortiz will be the main engine. The AJ-Ross duo will cover Salty's ass specially far better behind the plate. The Nava-Carp-Gomes platoon machine will be ok. Our pen is stronger even Koji dropping a bit. Aside CB who is made of glass, Our rotation is in shape, and as you said we have some depth. I see a competitive team, sure probably not as good as 2013 but still very competitive.

Since they hold only 1/3 of the RSN these days, I think it is less, IDK. But still, you have to count the money that FOX's paid to NYY. On the other hand the RS in 2011 made 270 in Net of stadium revenues used for debt payments. How much did they make via RSN? I have no idea. Regardless the number, While the Red Sox are making a lot of money as well, I do not think they are in the same position in order to spend like the NYY or LAD do these days.

Hence even conceding your 65 (Still do not know where you got it), you have to add it to Its Net of stadium revenues used for debt payments, which is around 427 M plus 25 M from LHM and the fee that fox paid front for the RSN stake to NYY which is around 450 M. They have tooooons of money. Is it unlimited? nobody said that, but they can still spending like drunken sailors. It is not as complex as you want to present it.

My bad MVP, I meant some C-level's BASE SALARY aside the CEOs (ex. CIO). Still some CEOs of great small and medium, and even big companies are not making what a low-profile baseball player makes in base salary in a year. Hell, Very, very few people around the world command a 20 K/month base salary. Probably you are one of them hahaha.

You have to add the other two-engine money-making machines (YES Revenue 136 M(34%) & LHM 25M) It is 588 M in 2011 and without considering the fee that FOX paid last year for the YES stake to the NYY which is around 450 M. They have plenty of money to set a 200 + M team, easily.

Until baseball is not a profitable business anymore. Baseball players' salaries are insane even for those who are in the bottom. The floor is 500 K, isn't it?… Hell, Tons of CEOs of great companies doesn't even make the half of that salary.
