  1. Well in that scenario, a big IF will come around. Who is going to turn into your No. 2.?. IMHO None, and this is why I want an extra solid arm.
  2. Santana is gone, but would u have preferred Santana as your number two and say Shields as your number one? I liked the idea as well. If we really want Shields, we have to hurry up IMO, otherwise be prepared to see XB or other top prospect go if we want a No. 1. BTW is it me or our FO apparently seem not that interested to get Shields.
  3. Plus, Probably he will cost more, when Shields and Scherzer are out of the market.
  4. If you want 2 solid SPs as we are suggesting, wonder what options you are talking about? Shields? oks. Scherzer? I do not see them inking him, do u?. Who else?
  5. I do not think that you, Fred or somebody here want to trade XB or any top kid. Thing is, you have to, if you want a solid pitcher and this 2nd arm is not coming via FA, as some of us want. We have seen enough from our pitching staff in the recent years and some of us are tired of busts and do not feel comfortable at all with the addition of only one arm to the current rotation regardless the name. Since they shitted the bed with Lester and Scherzer apparently is out of the radar, the 2nd arm will be via trade if so and giving up top value in the process. Unfortunately, at this point your idea of landing Hamels and Shields sounds to me like science fiction Ted LOL.
  6. I do not agree with him or Fred all the time. For example, In the same post, I said do not bring back Drew, and he did... I think that you are not looking at the whole picture, and you just are seeing what you want to see. Damn, when the offseason began I said... please land pitching via FA since they apparently have money and some fat contracts will come off the books and I didn't want to give up top value like XB as well; unfortunately things have changed and if you want 2 top pitchers as I do, you most likely have to give up top value in the process. What bothers me more is that landing Lester and Shields as I and some here suggested, was perfectly affordable and our FO shitted the bed.
  7. The only two No. 1s arms left are Shields and Scherzer. I do not see our FO landing Scherzer. Shields? it could be more realistic. The thing is that some of us think that we are two pitchers away to get it this done, not one, 2. I wanted Lester and Shields when the offseason began. Lester is gone due to the horrible management by our brilliant FO. so... the other arm if landed, most likely would be via trade and if you want a guy like Hamels, Cueto or recently JZ, you have to give some top value in the process... so XB would be my trade chip... I do not like this as you do, but our FO shitted the bed with Lester big time and if they want to land a 2nd solid arm, it will cost you top value most likely. I think this is how some of us feel about our current pitching staff. While some think that the current staff is ok to go and/or with another solid arm, some of us think that we are 2 arms away. Again this is an opinion given the question marks and big Ifs in the current staff. Is it a terrible idea? well it is how I see the thing, and some as well.
  8. yeah, I do not have problem when you talk about baseball but when you come up with your "trading him now would only give you license to whine about the fo when he becomes a star" and sarcastic comments, it is just pathetic man. Unfortunately this is your modus operandi around here.
  9. Not sure why you whine all the time about other people whining when they are not even whining at all. Don't you get tired of this?
  10. Terrible for you, not for some of us. we get that u do not like this but do u have to say this over and over again?, really?
  11. jajaja it's oks Spud, it happens to me all the time when I'm writing here in english LOL. Let me know if you plan to come down to Mexico City, here we have very nice places for all budgets to eat great mexican food. There is a place here named Porfirio's, their offer is gourmet mexican food. It is a very nice place and I have understood that they just opened a restaurant in Miami. I really recommend this place if somebody want to taste great gourmet mexican food, with a couple of great tequilas or mezcales. http://www.porfirios.com.mx
  12. Probably 110 M doesn't get the deal done, but I do not see he getting more than 130 M either... So something in between still would be ok for me.
  13. Thanks Ted. If a restaurant is always this full, It speaks by itself about its quality. I'll try to go. Lol! Well I think it is my fault. Probably it is named El Sarape. It is a kind of coat we use here. I like a lot to eat crab;cooked with butter, lemon, fresh, onions, etc. Thank you all for the advises.
  14. The other day I watched at travel and health or something a program about places to go in Boston, and in a restaurant, do not remember the name, seemed that they cook the Alaska crab very delicious. What is the typical dish or food in Boston?
  15. Like the idea. Shields and Hamels would be terrific additions. I just wouldn't sign Drew again. In this scenario I'd rather Hanley or even Holt at SS. But I Iike this.
  16. Thanks for the advise Spud. I haven't been in Taco Bell. In Mexico City, I'm not sure but I think there is not a Taco Bell, but I'm not sure as I said, I haven't seen one. I love tacos, huaraches, sopes, mole poblano, chiles en nogada, pozole, flautas, etc. Love mexican food. On the other hand I would like to eat culinarily food of Boston. Not sure what kind of food and restaurants would you guys recommend. I have understood that the seafood is pretty good there.
  17. I'd trade Craig + for Gallardo. Lohse? Probably. Thing is, I don't see MIL trading Gallardo, he is their #1.
  18. Wonder if the FO is really in the hunt for Shields as they apparently were for Lester. After watching the numbers and his durability would be a mistake not landing this guy at whatever price even if this means entering in a bidding war with NYY, LAD or eventually DET.
  19. Would you trade Craig+ for Gallardo or Lohse?
  20. Looking the numbers and considering what Lester got and what Scherzer will get, a 120 M contract sounds like a bargain to me.
  21. I would exchange the combo for any of them in a heartbeat.
  22. Sure, in a team like KCR or even ours, Shields would be a No 1. In some teams he could be a No. 1. But he is not an ace by any means, he could even be a number 3/4 in teams like LAD DET WSN, etc. Damn, not sure when is going to be the season when we have a solid 1-2-3 like LAD or DET.
  23. ...and to me Shields is a No 2.
  24. They have money, right? Then... What is the big deal giving Shields a 120 M contract? Overpaid? You bet, but almost every FA is. So show him the money already haha
  25. Hi Fred... Well, as for culinary taste I like all kind of food, Italian, Mexican, Seafood, American Beef Cuts, etc. As for the weather, hopefully it is not that cold, either way I will wear a warm jacket haha. Thanks for all the advices, and if you catch a game, let me know to have a drink together with Ted.
