  1. I don't think you are getting the point Bell. Why would you throw in a Y what a No. 1 makes in a Y basis to a guy who wasn't/isn't/won't be a No 1. For the next 4 Y?
  2. The difference speaks volumes about the kind of pitchers they are, and I do not have problem with that commitment since he is probably the best pitcher around arguably for the next 10 Y . Also, what is the NPV of that contract? On the other hand, when I see Porcello's contract mostly when you look at the Y basis, makes me puke.
  3. Yup, but I meant in a AVV basis. 20 M pay check/ Y belongs in the Group you mentioned. Also, even in his prime years as you are suggesting, I do not see Porcello earning that money, but that's me of course.
  4. No one thinks he was/is/will be a No. 1 type, but some think that he worth whata No.1 makes in a Y basis. Interesting.
  5. That was what I was disputing, no more, no less. So am I reasonable, now?
  6. Yup, but Porcello is not in that elite group by any means, even if he borns again. In my book he is 2 floors downstairs at least, probably 3.
  7. Bingo! To me doesn't make sense to throw 20 M /Y for the next 4 Y to a pitcher who has not shown that potential yet even with all the GB, young, FiP, WAR, etc rethoric thing. As you said, wouldn't it be more prudent wait at least 12 starts or something at least?
  8. Where did I say that get injured by a freaking play have something to do with durability? I'll wait. Secondly, I'm free to make an offer (whatever it is) and you are free to accept it or refuse it. A couple of posters already accepted my offer. I think that they thought it was pretty fair otherwise why did they accept this? I like to bet money. You like to bet Sigs. No problem. Do you still want to bet your sig under my conditions?
  9. Unfortunately this is true Pal.
  10. I would call this set, match and game.
  11. I think he is a Jetta, nothing more haha
  12. That's the thing. His whole career doesn't give me the certainty to throw that amount of money at a pitcher like Porcello. If we were talking about pitchers like Kershaw, J Fernandez, Teheran, etc, who btw have better stuff, I would take the time to make a case, but Rick f***ing Porcello? Cmon man.
  13. Once again, did Harang worth last year 20 M? Kind of my point.
  14. Porcello is not a 20 M pitcher by any means.
  15. Your common sense is killing this board.
  16. She based the thing on metrics reason why I put the ex.
  17. ... And Fantasy is about to assemble team and managing it during several months, and not about a single player.
  18. I took this just for fun, and to add some pepper to the thing, not big deal at all.
  19. So Harang worth what? 25 M?, He posted last year the same FIP and ERA which BTW are lower than Porcello's 2013 ERA; plus Harang has better SO/9 and same WAR. Wonder, how much worth Kershaw, then.
  20. I think Kim was willing to accept this.
  21. Injuries are always around this game and it is part of the game. When you make a commitment to a player, you are aware of that. So, it is part of the risk, mostly when you make a commitment like they did to Porcello. Ells, Buch, Materson, etc are injury prone players. I don't think it is the case of Porcello, but you never know when an injury could start, mostly at SPs. Don't worry YTN, maybe in other occasion we bet, no big deal.
  22. Well, it is based on what everybody is projecting, good ERA and durability. Happens that I do not see that. Some here are pretty sure the he will be healthy an posting a good ERA. 150 IP and an ERA under 4 is pretty friendly for those who are optimistic about him. In other words, If he gets injured or posts an ERA over 4, this contract will be a disaster.
  23. Wow, El Titán is out of this world.
  24. You win if posts an ERA under 4 AND 150 IP or more. In other words, you win if he posts 3.99 and 150 IP. I win if he posts an ERA of 4 or more OR less than 150 IP. In other words, I win if he posts 4 or 149 2/3 IP. Playoffs doesn't count. He has to post this with Red Sox uniform. He has to reach this 150 IP, no matter what (ex. If he gets injured at 100 IP, and lose the rest of the season, you lose.) This goes for SC and H as well. Please let me know if you are still in. Hopefully you three, win. Good luck.
