Great win!
Couple of things. Porcello faced a weak lineup --without Posey and Pence --- and was very lucky in the fourth. An ALE team would have pounded him, badly. As I said in other threads, his HR/FB% won't let him keep his ERA under 4. His career HR/FB% is 12%; that's horrible, i.e. He will allow more bombs. We still have a lot games against AL team and in Parks where are not pitcher-friendly like SF. He needs to make some adjustments --whatever that means-- otherwise he could regress badly. His ERA after his first five starts is over 5, his regression was inevitable. He is not a PO pitcher by any means. We need a good pitcher, badly. At this point the only reliable are Price and Wright. ERod is a big ? to me, and Porcello's ceiling is a No. 4 profile.
Shields is not an option anymore. Zimmermann could be a nice option. IMO Tigers ain't going anywhere this year. Teheran is not an ace but he can be a solid No. 2 -- probably more. IDK out there are plenty of possibilities, but what is clear to me is that we have to do something regarding pitching.
