  1. Good! Hopefully this helps him to regain confidence. Let’s go offense!
  2. Pitching coach needs to go and chill him out a bit. He’s better than this.
  3. Richards is throwing FB after FB. His breaking balls had been money for him.
  4. Whata break there lol Richards needs to throw more breaking balls and in the zone.
  5. BABIP considers all kind of balls in play, including LD. Also while LDs have more chances to touch the ground in fair territory, not all of them are hits. All kind of balls in play have been hits more often this year for Rodriguez. All kind (FB, GB, LD). Whether the defense has something to do and/or randomness of where the ball has been falling is part of the considerations but the baseball has been falling in fair territory way more often this year for Rodriguez. Sure, more LD% suggests more hits, but that 5% or so difference is not that relevant for an increase of 60 points in his 2021 BABIP. No way. You have to put in consideration the other 73% of the balls in play. Said that, His run prevention indicators, specially SIERA (3.4) which considers BABIP, suggest that Rodriguez will improve his ERA at some point.
  6. Geez his BABIP is way too high at 366 compared with his career numbers which is around 300 before 2021. He’ll improve.
  7. His SIERA which considers BABIP is 3.42. While he has not been consistently lately, all his run prevention indicators (fip, xfip and siera) suggest that he hasn’t been lucky for whatever reason. This is pretty encouraging, since these metrics suggest his ERA will improve when his BABIP normalizes and is expected to happen at some point. ie his stuff is still there and has been pretty good actually.
  8. Well last thing I read about it is that this injury is a minor thing and is expected to return very soon.
  9. yeah count them too. Specially Sale who has been saying over and over again that his recovery is progressing pretty well. Help will come, that's for sure.
  10. And help is yet to come. Santana, Arroyo, Duran and Houk to say a few will join the team at some point and will make us stronger. Gonna be interesting.
  11. This is an excellent diagnostic of what you can expect for the Red Sox this year, and while this is a bridge year, this 2021 product still will make noise. If I were JH I would be pleased thus far.
  12. Some people here want to DFA his ass lol He started solid and while he has not been lucky, he has been inconsistent lately. Pedro needs to help him to put his s*** together again.
  13. They have faced a lot of weak teams since then and those who are over 500 these days like the Astros and TB were not in good shape at the time. Plus the IL phantom is knocking the door again. I expect you to struggle when you start facing good teams again.
  14. Another no-no in SEA after 8 about to happen. Not sure whether a no-no is that exciting at this point. Seems like every week there is always one LOL!
  15. After 2018 he was supposed to be our No. 2 reason why they gave him that contract. Call it the heat of the moment but that was the plan — which I was agree after that monumental game No 3 of the WS where he pitched another 9 innings. I was at the stadium btw lol
  16. I don’t think you have checked his numbers. You better check them twice. 2015 3.85 2016, yes 4.71 2017 4.19 2018 3.82 2019 3.81
  17. Take away that awful 2016, and he is a pitcher in high 3s ERAs. As I said he is nothing but a solid No 3 in my book which is what most people thought his ceiling was going to be when he arrived to Boston. 2018 and 2019 were encouraging years and some thought he could end up as No 2 or even No 1 moving forward. It’s still early. There’s nothing that can avoid that accomplishment yet. Even in that optimistic scenario, nobody in his right mind thinks he is ace material.
  18. IMO he is going to end up positing something around 4.0 this year which is pretty good and solid given his role in the team as Number 3 pitcher since Sale and Eovaldi were supposed to be our horses.
  19. A 4.0 ERA pítcher is a Solid No 3 in my book. No rocket science here.
  20. In my book he is a solid No. 3 pitcher who has pitched like ace at times.
  21. Well he was T-6 CY candidate in 2019. Said that call him as you want.
  22. This is the outcome when you are afraid to throw strikes. Reminded me the timid Rodríguez he once was when he arrived to Boston. He didn’t want throw strikes to Jansen, walked him and the rest is history. 4-0.
  23. Id give the 8th to Whitlock. He has the best stuff in the pen no named Barnes. They probably have to work with his mind though.
  24. Wow the Y lost lol
