  1. Scherzer is one of the very few pitchers over 35 yo I'd land tagged with high avv salary for the next 3 years, and knowing that probably the 3rd year won't look that good.
  2. plus experience. I agree.
  3. What Max brings to the table as well is experience and that intangible is a very important one in POs. Yeah, it sounds like Berrios could be a better addition, not only because he is younger but you will have another year of control.
  4. It's beyond me why Andriese and Workman are still in this team regardless what happens with Richards.
  5. Just noticed Nick's avatar lol oh boy!
  6. Well, speaking for myself I like Houck over Pivetta anyday of the week.
  7. Well, probably he could be better coming off the pen than Andriese and Workman, for long reliever duties, but yes he is still big IF, even coming off the pen.
  8. BB/9 is definitely a great stat to start off in order to rate control and command, but you have to look at his other peripherals and batted ball stats. For instance his 2021 HR/FB % & HR% are 14.4% and 1.35 while his career are around 10% and 1. Also his BABIP is way low compared with his career —238 vs 290, reason why his OPS against (600) is below his career (653) It doesn't matter how you slice it, he is still a very good pitcher, no doubt.
  9. and just like that 4-0 and still nobody out in the first.
  10. Cloe is getting pounded early.
  11. Sure, but you are probably not going to be in this position next year. TB, NY and specially TOR will be likely tougher. IMO what you are saying makes a lot of sense but maybe JH wants to win it all now given the circumstances. Said that, it will be very interesting how JH and CB execute in the next hours.
  12. He just allowed a bomb from R.T. and HBP Gregarious, but yeah he is still a an elite arm in the game. I'm not aware that much of the status of his contract, though.
  13. How would he hit Yankee Stadium?
  14. I'm watching Scherzer pitch, and while he is still dominant, his command is not the same but probably good enough to win games.
  15. The Rumor of Scherzer to Sox is getting louder. Red Sox Among Teams In Mix For Max Scherzer By Steve Adams | July 29, 2021 at 11:44am CDT 11:44am: The Red Sox are indeed in the mix for Scherzer, tweets MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, who adds that Scherzer is open to a trade to Boston.
  16. He is for sure the No. 1 candidate to go to the pen.
  17. It's not cherry picking. Kid is a stud and arguably the greatest pick up by Bloom thus far.
  18. I do respect your opinion Max, and thanks for sharing these memories.
  19. I don't like Hand at all.
  20. The later could change a bit the plans of JH and CB moving forward which is valid.
  21. Assuming a team gets a 100% healthy Scherzer, he is still one of the best of the game. Said that, I assume by simple common sense that if the Red Sox acquire Scherzer they are aware of all the collaterals and cost of opportunity of this trade. Thing is our team is in a legit position to win it all this year, thing that no one thought starting the season, maybe not even JH or CB.
  22. I guess all of them will mean clean the farm again.
  23. Well, they have good teams too but I like ours more.
  24. Our BP is elite. Our offense is elite. Our Rotation with Scherzer, Sale (80% Sale), EO, Houck (now) and Rodriguez is an elite one. What did I miss?
  25. Those are a lot of walks.
