  1. Do you have any more info on him? I don't speak Spanish and I can't find much other than the fact that he's 17, he recently converted to catcher and he's got a good arm.
  2. The back end of our bullpen is starting to look like a strength. Papelbon - 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 22 straight save opportunities converted Bard - 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 11 strikeouts per 9 innings Delcarmen - 2.30 ERA, 1.02 WHIP Delcarmen's BABIP is unsustainably low, but Okajima's BABIP is unsustainably high. Between the two of them we should be able to find a serviceable 7th inning guy.
  3. VALVERDE! And as Damon's hitting home runs to help beat the Yankees, Granderson's on the disabled list for the next month.
  4. Lester First 3 starts - 8.44 ERA, 1.88 WHIP Last 4 starts - 0.97 ERA, 0.87 WHIP That's very encouraging. It took him until May 31st to turn it around last year, and I have a lot more faith in Lester, Beckett, Lackey and Matsuzaka than I did in Lester, Beckett, Penny and half a year of old man Smoltz.
  5. It's still May, but that was kind of a big win. It's the difference between being 8 games or 6 games back in the standings.
  6. Did anyone else realize that Delcarmen has a .078 BABIP so far this year? I looked up his stats when Dick Clark and Jon Miller were talking about how Delcarmen and Papelbon have supposedly been our best relievers. I would say Bard's been much better than Delcarmen.
  7. Are you into girls? Personally, I prefer women because they're 18.
  8. Cano grounds into the twin killing and he's now 5 for his last 30 (.167).
  9. Burnett's xFIP was more than two runs higher than his ERA. He was due to get lit up.
  10. They prop him up and pump him full of adrenaline once a year so he can mess up the count down in his robot voice.
  11. Dick Clark is more with it than these guys.
  12. The Yankees staff has a 3.42 ERA and they're scoring over 6 runs a game and you're trying to act like they're underachieving? Someone's been hitting the Kool-Aid a little hard.
  13. To me, the MVP award means exactly what it says it's supposed to mean - MOST VALUABLE player. That means that it takes defense and position into account. We already have an offense only award named the silver slugger. The MVP shouldn't be the same thing.
  14. Lester has obviously been the ace for years. There's a reason why Beckett's paid less than Lackey and we're lucky that Lester signed an extremely team friendly contract.
  15. Yankees fans were horribly spoiled by their entire team for the most part being healthy from late April on last year. Welcome to the real world where players get hurt.
  16. Ouch. He's brutally bad against righties.
  17. If you think the Yankees are going to call up a .244/.306/.378 hitter from AAA to be an everyday player then you're dreaming.
  18. Yeah, he's right up there with Livan Hernandez and his sterling ERA in early May.
