    Trust me, I just went out for a walk. I got drenched. It's not a downpour but it's a steady rain. The good news is - it's not that dark, it could stop and there's no wind so it feels a lot warmer than they predicted OH and it's still more than 5 hours until "Play Ball".

    It's usually an indication something isn't working well. I had gall stones - because I had a crap diet. Also, VA.. it's also mentioned that he's just in lousy shape. I didn't mean to piss anyone off because I mention kidney stones as part of the problem. Eliminate the kidney stones and then take in the rest of the post.

    Tek can't throw out runners, Tek can't catch the knuckleball, Tek can't hit (see last season for reference). When V-Mart came here last season we saw he couldn't throw out runners, he could catch the knuckleball, he could hit. HUGE IMPROVEMENT. AND Nothing has changed. V-Mart still calls as good a game as Tek, V-Mart can still catch the knuckleball, V-Mart is still a good hitter. Stop using 9 games as a litmus test for what a player is going to do over the course of 162. V-Mart is our full-time catcher and he's a good one and we're lucky to have him. We don't need another catcher. If we bring in a defense only catcher within two weeks you'll all be pissing and moaning that we don't have a catcher that can hit and start barking about Mauer again.

    Kidney stone? What do these ballplayers do to themselves that they're getting all these bizaare ailments before they even hit 40. It really bugs me, baseball players are in worse shape than many in the general public. I have a 49 year old friend that's still highly competitive in Marathons. I have another friend, early 40's, that just took up mountain climbing and is kicking ass - and we think 37 is too old to run 3 bases all out and he has kidney stones? WTF!
