  1. Yup, I remember you too. What happened to our beloved Sox?
  2. I haven't been here for a couple of years. Just dropped in to see if any of the old timers were still hanging around - yup there are still a few familiar names and to say Hi. Hope all have been having an awesome summer despite the foul stench emanating from Fenway.
  3. MacDonald did well for us while he was here. I hope someone picks him up as a 4th OF but he wasn't a permanent solution for the Sox.
  4. Sounds nice Jason. Friends of mine go to Camden Yards every year for the Sox series. One of them has family in the Baltimore area, so even with the price of gas and treating everyone to dinner out - it's still tons cheaper than trying to get a seat at Fenway and they love the venue. They're starting to become Orioles fans (if that's possible) because of it.
  5. Well .. Jason may get to play a few in a row... Has anyone heard if Martinez will be out for a few days?
  6. Well good now I have Dipre and Emmz on my ignore list... (unfortunately Emmz is now following me around the board - what fun! Obviously someone needs a new hobby)... And Palodios, on Emmz suggestion, (so awesome that I was able to read that, thanks for the quote Palodios) has me on ignore. Before long, not a discouraging word will be heard. BTW.. if you don't like me I think it's a great idea to put me on ignore. I'm doing that to people that I seem to have trouble not being able to stay out of "it" with and I heartily applaud you're doing the same. BTW.. Dipre, I really do like you, you just tend to bait and I can never resist and it ruins thread after thread.
  7. No.. I never called you names I said you got pissy with me when I responded to your post. I said I got 10 games a day on Comcast - I never insinuated you needed to buy anything. I was just making the statement that I don't need interleague play to see teams in other leagues. Well we're done with the Twins for the year after 5 game... we don't play each team two series, unless you mean one away and one at home and we haven't since they changed it to 18 games against each AL East opponent (which I also think is too much). OK we disagree on the word "history". I understand what you're saying about the Phillies but I just don't feel it's a rivalry and I don't think there's (my definition) a history there, There was a series - but I don't feel anything is relived when we play them during the season. I've watched the Royals/Twins/Tigers for 35 years and enjoy it... to me that's history. All I can say... unless I want to repeat myself again is I disagree. :dunno:
  8. I don't see how they could create a 50,000 seat stadium in the Fens. Where could they expand it? I think you need to move the stadium out of the Fens.
  9. The Designated Hitter.... If you do away with the leagues, do you keep or dissolve the DH. The purists will say do away with the DH, without it you have 9 players on the field, not 8 and a pitcher. It requires more in game management, creating more excitment and it's the way the game was designed. I disagree. I think it slows the game and decreases excitement because of the lowered offense. If they do away with the boundary between the leagues - I think all teams should get a DH. Actually even if they keep the National/American as is - I think the DH should become a rule in both leagues.
  10. Thanks ORS, I haven't kept up with the voting but that's case positive that the All Star Game has turned into a joke.
  11. I'm 5'4" and a size 8. I can fit into the seats, comfortably - however all I usually end up doing is making some extra room for the shoulders, arms and asses of the behemoths on either side of me. Precisely like riding coach in an airplane.
  12. Don't brag, it's unattractive.
  13. The biggest difference with Buchholz this year is between the ears. He's always had the stuff but now he really thinks his is the biggest in the damn stadium. Starting pitchers need that. He still needs to pick up the pace a little when a runner gets on base. Buchholz is at his best when he's pitching at a rapid tempo. He's a future Ace (only a year or two away) and Jackson you're nuts.
  14. I get several baseball games a day with Comcast. I'm not interested in watching the Pirates or the Astros or the........ How do the Sox have more history with the Cardinals that the Royals? How many years did they play the Royals? The big World Series Matchup is all that matters, playing the next year cheapens the Series itself and is just a vain attempt at creating a rivalry that will last 19 minutes. Baseball didn't need it before... baseball was better before. This matchup is meaningless, unless it's the next World Series. It made perfect sense for several generations to not play teams in the same city. This was just an exhibition "thing" that made money so they kept it. There's no purpose or logic behind it. It's all about the bling.
  15. That makes me want to cry.
  16. Yes, Yes it does.
  17. :dunno: Confusion makes me sad. I need to drink more during these games.
  18. Wow. Thank you Scutaro. For a minute I thought he was going to screw that up.
