  1. Dojii is right. Bill Hall IS a better reliever than half of this bullpen.
  2. They gave a pretty good overview of him at the beginning of the game. As a reliever his ERA is in the mid 3's, and as a starter, its in the 5's. They also said he gets a bit predictable, and as batters get a better read, they hit better as the game goes on. I think Remmy said he was best suited for long relief.
  3. I've always said Masterson is a work in progress. If he can find success against lefties, he could be a solid # 2/3 starter.
  4. Both of them are worth something, so if anything, they'll be traded.
  5. Oh f***, Buchholz really needs to get into a groove here.
  6. Tito is long overdue to tell Josh Reddick that he's better off to let the ball hit the ground and it be a double, then fail on a bad catch and let it turn into a triple. This is the second time this series.
  7. Normally I'd agree, but remember what Lincecum taught us. Bad mechanics+ good health = Cy Youngs.
  8. Dipre was long overdue for editing this gamethread by adding "repeat what others say" mojo.
  9. Beltre is long overdue for a HR
  10. I'm fairly sure he was having trouble dealing with the nasty glare on the field, but one run out of that mess wasn't too bad. Hopefully he can get some run support to help him out a bit.
  11. My ability to tolerate Buchholz falling behind Price in wins leaves much to be desired.
  12. Throughout his career, Masterson has been notoriously better against righties. Drew and Ortiz have been quiet lately, Reddick still isn't quite ready for the majors, and Hermida is still sore. I think it might end up being a tight game, with Buchholz getting a slight edge.
  13. Suns, take it easy. You know the Guardians are in a bridge year, so let it go.
  14. Quiet night. Its a tuesday, Shakefield is pitching, Celtics are on in an hour. Sounds about right.
  15. Just 1.5 innings in, and we've given up a triple, an error, and grounded into two double plays. I do not have a good feeling about this one.
  16. Strasburg has 4 strikeouts through 2 innings.
  17. Beltre come on, 3 errors this series is unacceptable from you.
  18. He just didn't like being touched there. Maybe its a superstition of his?
  19. While I do agree that those are both factors, his back problems really threw off his spring training schedule.
  20. Dice-k hasn't pitched a full season since 2008. Call it a coincidence, but look at the pitch counts of the games. Every time he has seen a big bump in pitch count, he's pitched poorly the following game. His first game he fell apart at the end of his outing, around 85 plus pitches (he only pitched 80 pitch simulations in ST). His third game, he pitched well, at 106 pitches-- the next game he gave up 7 ER to the yankees. The no hit bid, his pitch count jumped up to 112, and the following game he had no control and admitted to being sore. Now that his arm is used to the strain, he's been a very good #3 pitcher. I know there are other factors, but this tells me that losing some spring training, and early parts of the season have thrown off his conditioning by a lot. Right now, his arm is getting used to pitching 110 pitches per game. Every time he's been physically ready to pitch (2007, 2008, and the end of 2009) he's been solid.
  21. I'm not arguing with Dice-k's uncanny ability to go from being good to being suck. I'm skeptical of Beckett, who has the highest ERA of any pitcher with 40+ innings this season. Calling him a #2 right now is a longshot at best.
