  1. Papelbon's ERA is 3.15. Lester's ERA is 3.15. I don't see the problem.
  2. Considering he only gave up one hit, and he pitched a complete game last time up, I'm not going to lose sleep over his performance.
  3. Delcarmen, Bard, Papelbon. Not a horrible group this season.
  4. I feel the same way I did with the Dice-K near no-no. If the pitch count is that high, its better for the team to just let the pitcher come out early than kill their arm going for it.
  5. Hell, isn't Vmart a bigger double play target too?
  6. This still frustrates me. Why not put Drew in the 3 spot, and Vmart lower down? He's a better hitter, and it doesn't affect matchups since 1-2-3-4 is still going to be l-r-l-r.
  7. Why do I get the feeling this will be a 1-0 game?
  8. Its the start of summer, NBA/tv finales have been taking up people's time perhaps?
  9. I clearly have no understanding of mojo.
  10. Wait, I thought Lowell was in because Beltre has had bad luck against Shield?
  11. I don't think mojo works like that, does it? Otherwise, we'd have Yankee fans posting new game threads every day. But wow, this team has some sure success against Shields, does it?
  12. Its also noteable who he has been pitching against as well. The Rangers, the yankees, the tigers, the twins, 2 against tampa, toronto. The only team he's faced outside of the top half of AL in runs scored is Kansas City, who are at #9 respectively, and he has yet to face NL teams yet.
  13. You're the one calling me names and saying you don't give a crap about other teams, and that I should go out and buy an expensive mlb package to watch other teams. You made it personal, not me. My opinion is that history is made by big games and World series rather than by beating up on Kansas City year after year. I'm not angry that you disagree but rather confused by the logic of it. 10 games against the Angels isn't enough? We play EVERY team in the AL in atleast two series, and every team in East 18 games a year. I get that you don't like the unbalanced schedule-- I don't like it either-- but it is impossible to schedule a balanced interleague schedule with only 18 games in 5 team divisions. It only gets more complicated when looking at the different sizes of the Al West and NL Central divisions. Not to mention pitching matchups-- playing against San Francisco isn't a huge deal, but playing against Lincecum is.
  14. This is where I got that. Playing former World Series foes and same city opponents may be lame to you, but are exciting enough for many others. I don't think I was pissy, just expressing that I have no patience for someone who has no regard for an opinion besides her own.
  15. If you don't know who the Red Sox beat in the historic 2004 World Series, or realize the numerous good reasons for a team to play a team in the same city as them, I see no reason to continue this conversation.
  16. 10,000 sports channels cost money. So does traveling to see a team play. In other sports, you'd be lucky to get to see some teams several times in a year, and you don't think 5 games against the twins in one season is enough? The Sox have more history with the Cardinals than Kansas City, and as much as I like Lester, that is a fact. To have a big World Series matchup one year, and ignore it the next would be a waste. To have teams who have stadiums in the same city never play eachother during the season makes no sense whatsoever.
  17. The Phillies. Every time I've been in Philly, I've had a great time. They're close enough, and not contending against the Sox either. I lived in Yankee territory the last two years and it killed me--I'm actually considering moving to Philly soon. I don't think I'll bring my Duracells next time the sox come to town, but you never know. Considering the two teams havent been in the same World Series in almost a hundred years, I'm not too worried.
  18. The best players always get in. Its usually only the borderline ones that are sometimes missed. That being said-- How the hell is Teagarden the #4 catcher in the AL?
  19. I really don't get the "we don't play teams we only see a few times a year" argument. I hear it all the time, but interleague play is all about letting teams play teams they rarely see-- and then people throw the argument out there the Sox don't play the Texas Rangers enough as it is. So the solution to not seeing some teams frequently enough is.... seeing some teams not at all? I'm confused by the logic here. Yes, the Sox are being screwed because they are playing tougher teams, but how is that any different from how the Orioles feel? And seriously, when was the last time the Sox played the Pirates?
