    Ugh, Mauer just hit into an inning ending DP in the 8th against the Yankees, 2-2 game.

    Its easy to be dissatisfied with his WHIP tonite, but its hard to argue with the results. Last night Lester gave the BP 2 runs to work with, and tonite Lackey gave them 4.

    Impressive! I hope you do understand that I was joking-- but you would be surprised how many foreign students are out there in top schools who can't put an English sentence together. I'm from more math backgrounds, but its still a bit unreal.

    If good pitching is contagious... and both Wakefield and Dice-K caught it... maybe Lackey can catch it too?

    I don't like the idea of giving any team home field advantage for no reason. If the Jets/Giants get in, they WILL have more fans. If the Patriots get in, they will have more enemies. If it snows, southern teams who aren't used to dealing with snow have a severe disadvantage that other southern teams haven't had in the superbowl lately. If weather makes it a bad game(ie a scoreless snow game), how much will that hurt the ratings? Hell, if we're just going to award the superbowl to a non-neutral place, why not just give the team with the better record home-field advantage?

    You know what's a scary thought? After doing great against all these playoff teams, the next 17 of the next 21 games are against the Royals, the Guardians, Baltimore, Oakland and the Diamondbacks.
