    Paps is getting between 3 years at 10-15 million a year. No more, no less.

    Lavs moved to the catcher position only because he was absolutely terrible in the OF. That being said, a platoon with Crawford in LF couldn't hurt anything.

    Fair enough. What position does this player play? That is very relevant. For any position other than catcher, I would say no. A shortstop is allowed to be a poor offensive player... but he needs to be strong defensively, something that your player is not.

    I'm referring to bullpen arms in the low 3's that can be obtained for around 3 million or so-- not necessarily Wheeler.

    Seriously. Would you rather have Papelbon, Bard, and no one else, or Bard, and five relievers with ERAs in the mid 3s? Better yet, Bard, Bell, and two more of those decent relievers. That is how expensive Papelbon is going to be.

    When it mattered most, Papelbon did not record a save. I'd rather sign five guys like Dan Wheeler than get one Papelbon.

    I think that letting Vmart and Beltre go had a lot to do with replenishing the depleted farm system. There is a pretty good chance they do it again this year, and drop Paps and Papi for four first rounders.
