    I know there are factors, but there are always factors when signing players. Hamilton's addictions, Crawford's heavy splits, Lackey's peripherals etc etc. Ortiz has been the biggest bargain in baseball for many many years.

    He's in a s***** position, but there are only 30 managers positions, and he gets one. Maybe if he does a good job, he can find a bench coach role in another organization..
