  1. Oh! It finally makes sense now. The reason for the Red Sox's turn around is cheating!
  2. Yahoo had an article about big shots today. Apparently Napoli had a 460 earlier as well. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/seven-most-mammoth-home-runs-april-235920727.html
  3. No backpedaling here. The Red Sox needed pitching. The Jays got a pile of it for very little. The Red Sox have been extremely lucky with their starting pitching so far, and hopefully that continues. Unless you called out Buchholz and Lester returning to elite form 100% of the time (which no one did) you can't justify an "I-told-you-so" here.
  4. Its a shame Felix stuck around in Seattle. He turned 27 last month, and he already has 102. No way it happens if he keeps getting 14 wins a year though.
  5. Fountain of biogenesis.
  6. Someone else has to bump the thread this time around
  7. Fun fact: Buchholz is signed through 2015, with two club options.
  8. Hopefully some non-Japanese pitchers can finish this game out.
  9. Dear David Ortiz. I want to sincerely apologize for all that s*** I said about you in 2009. You're awesome.
  10. The Blue Jay defense won't do him any favors. Lawrie is the only guy in the infield that hasn't looked shaky.
  11. Can you believe that he's going to be making 18 and 19 million in 2013/2014? Crazy.
  12. Just to be clear, I was making fun of Don's comment about Napoli/Nava earlier, and Nava just happened to crush the next pitch:lol:
  13. Don-- Nava with a huge bomb to center field.
  14. Rasmus with one of the ugliest at bats I've ever seen. Missing at 3 balls almost in the dirt.
  15. Remember when Stephen Drew was a top 5 shortstop in the majors?
  16. Bautista didn't swing at either pitch either.
  17. The Yankees have a solid 1-2 punch in Gardner/Cano. The 3-9 spots don't project nearly as well.
  18. 115 pound Tiffany Ortiz reportedly tired of all the Big Mommy jokes.
  19. Its an interesting question. Glad to look over tweets and see Kobe, Dwayne Wade, Steve Nash, Magic Johnson, Bill Clinton, and his own team the Wizards (well, for a few games) showing such support. If he ever plays another NBA game, this is a big deal. It may diminish his cultural impact if he doesn't get signed this offseason.
  20. Not "So the Red Sox are pretty good at baseball" ? And yet another great part of this team is that even if players do get injured, there is plenty of depth. Webster + Morales for the rotation. Iglesias at SS. Brentz and Bradley for the outfield. Lavarnway and Vazquez at catcher. There are also some high ceiling wildcards like Bogaertz, De La Rosa and Bard. Not to mention that Wilson and Mortensen were never supposed to make the major league bullpen, and have contributed to the season.
  21. In 10.1 innings, Lackey has given up only 3 runs. This team is starting to look like the real deal.
  22. The Astros make Lackey looks like its 2009 again.
