  1. Sure, but this helps the Sox a lot. They don't have to put him out there every fifth day now. I mean even taking a gamble on a Jason Marqius or letting Wieland getting starts over Lackey would be a plus.
  2. This isn't about the Yankees, but I didn't want to put it in the Red Sox forum and here them moan and bitch about it. I figure the Yankee fans who post here would enjoy it.
  3. Did you use to post at an all team baseball forum a few years back?
  4. I don't think we NEED Broxton either, but he's a good guy to take a chance on with spare money. If he's good he get a great 7th/8th inning guy and type B compensation or we could pick up an option. If he's bad it's just a few million. Plus that could take away an option for the Red Sox or Tampa. As for Sizemore, what about getting Dejesus? Guy rakes in Yankee Stadium plug him into the 4th OF spot. He's on a down year, could be a nice buy low plus he's a hometown guy. I'm not going to s*** myself if we get sizemore and keep Swisher tho. Thinking ahead as well, I doubt Dodgers will be able to lock up Kemp. Would you sign him to a big deal? Assuming he has another good year. I just saw J.R. Towles will be a free agent. I would love to add him to the system. I know we have a ton of catchers but Cervelli's head kind of scares me. As well as Romine not being ready and well he might be trade bait.
  5. I'm glad you guys are keeping this within realistic goals, unlike the Sox off season thread where just about everyone has an idea on how to get Felix. Since JJ and Felix won't be going, I'd turn to John Danks. I just read on rotoworld that 2012 might be sort of a rebuilding year for them. Danks is entering his last year of his deal as well. White Sox need a catcher, we have Romine. Every team always needs pitching, so David Phelps and DJ Mitchell could be nice additions to the deal. This would also help us with a 40 man crunch. DJ kind of got lost in the arms we have and wouldn't be starting in Triple-A. Phelps and Mitchell are both guys who could break camp with the White Sox. Then add a lower level guy with potional, Jose Rosario? Romine, Phelps, Mitchell and Rosario for Danks. White Sox get two guys who can break camp, one guy they can call up mid season and a guy they can dream about. I pick up Nick Swisher's option and shop him to the Braves. Pick up one of their good starting pitching prospects, I wouldn't even mind getting Vizcaino back. I go hard for Jon Broxton(who will without a doubt will be nontendered by the Dodgers), with the success of Wade and Martin here, I'd inlist both of them to do some campaigning for us in the off season to get him here. A one year $3 million contract with incentives to get that to $5 and a team option for $6 million next year. I agree with Jacko, got to go hard for Sizemore. Guy has worn out his welcome in Cleveland, a lot of their fans actually can't stand him or they think they traded him already haha. Something similar to what Martin got himself $5 million, but with more incentives. Do not resign Mitre, tell Girardi to go f--k himself. Let Garcia walk and collect the pick. I actually see him signing with the Red Sox for on a two eyar $10 million deal. Would help with their backend of the rotation needs. Dump AJ somewhere, even if you got to pay 75% of that deal. C: Martin 1b: Tex 2B: Cano 3B: ARod SS: Jeter LF: Gardy CF: Grandy RF: Grady DH: Montero Lineup Gardner Jeter Grandy Cano ARod Tex Montero(Moves up as determined by his stats throughout the season) Martin Sizemore Pressure is taken off Sizemore hitting 9th. Bench Cervelli Maxwell(I like him more than Golson and Dickerson) Nunez Laird CC Nova Danks Hughes And then like Jacko I'd resign Colon, but only for a similar deal to what he got this year, maybe add on 500K to a million. I believe he got 1.2 million in all this year. I wouldn't him back for $2 million. If he goes Diva on us, look at some minor league vet signings and then Noesi and Warren here. Mo K-Rob Soriano Broxton Logan Wade Kontos *Joba on the DL until about July/August. Payroll would be $195 on this team. Not too bad. Warren and Noesi are the first calls to the rotation if Colon or anyone else faulters. Also with a lower payroll, you can see whats out there in terms of better options for the bench with a vet. Like last year with Jones and Chavez.
  6. Agreed, CC needs to come up huge tomrorow night. Glad we started to hit, hope that keeps up. This series made me realize we need to go after Danks HARD this off season. Felix and JJ aren't going to be moved. Wilson and Darvish will cost too much. Danks shouldn't cost a Manny or Montero either.
  7. Slade should be comped to sizemore. A guy who can hit 25 homers, steal bases, low contact, high strikeouts, good if not great defense and injury concerns
  8. David Cone, guy is magic. Makes adult humor jokes during the game too. Appreciates a pretty lady in the stands too haha.
  9. Francona was a classy guy, did everything right with the media and is a nice guy. He deserved better than being the fall guy. I wrote him a letter before the 2009 season and wished him good luck, said I hated the Red Sox but respected him. He wrote me back and thanked me and gave me an autograph. He'll find another job rather quickly, if he wants one.
  10. Who's talking about how great the farm system is? No one on here... or well I haven't seen that anyway
  11. I keep spelling this out for you guys, you'll have close to 150 million under contract and you can't trade Dic-K, Lackey or Crawford... no one is going to take those. You'd have to trade actually useful parts away to add HUGE impact players, obviously you could trade Ellsbury or Lester away for prospects or low priced guys, but Fielder is going to get PAID(by the cubs) and Pujols is probably going to make 18 to 22 million a year off his name.
  12. I didn't have much time looking over your rankings too much so here's some more questions.. Andrew Brackman, are you rating him out as a RP or SP? Jose Quintana has a lot of support, he's 49th for you though... looks like he had decent numbers too. Gary Sanchez had a good year with the bat.. and even better when you think of his age and where he played. Are you this upset over his attitude problems? I mean for me... if I was a millionaire at 18 I might of been cocky too, hell I wasn't even a millionaire and was cocky. Culver over Gumbs? Kudos to you for giving Tyler Austin some respect.
  13. No way should Montgomery be that low
  14. Respect. This is not a pipedream, which off season threads are filled with, for all teams. Its a guy or girl, which you are, realizing every team has restrictions. Sox are not going to have a 190 million payroll. They just aren't, its refreshing to see someone with down to earth expectations.
  15. Well I thought Bichette was a bad pick too. I don't remember anyone saying it was a good pick haha. NYPL Top 20 from Baseball America. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...2/2612397.html 1. Branden Pinder, rhp, Staten Island Yankees 20. Aaron Altherr, of, Williamsport Crosscutters (Phillies) Kind of surprised to see Gumbs down so low. I thought he'd be where Culver was and switch Culver to around 14th. Sally league should be out today.
  16. Where did I say or hint that I care about how many followers I have?
  17. It was sarcastic.... The director dropped hints at it, but I guess you were too simple-minded to pick it up, but meh I don't care and neither should you... it's just a TV show at the end of the day.
  18. Go eat a donut.
  19. Wow... bringing in Aceves when you're down by 4?
  20. I really don't want to leave Laffety in but there's really no one lese in the bullpen. Can't use K-Rob. So it's Ayala, Kontos, Dellin, Brackman, Noesi and Proctor. I guess Ayala or Noesi would be next in line.
  21. His other son is Andrew and players for the Angels as a SS.
