  1. I said a package of Kalish, Wilson and a SP, thats only three.
  2. You were going to give up Lars Anderson and Raul Alcantara for Rich Harden... Bailey is worth a LOT more than Rich Harden, IMHO. Beane is going to want a lot more than your deal. Heck I think Alcantara might have more value than both Weiland and Wilson. Alcantara could be a front line pitcher, where as the W&W boys are backenders at best. Replace Reddick with Kalish, get rid of Anderson and take Weiland out and put in a better SP, then you got Bailey.
  3. @jonmorosi Jon Morosi #RedSox have re-signed Andrew Miller. 5th Starter?
  4. It will cause you to have a seizure.
  5. Orel is trying to buy the Dodgers.
  6. Great post, one of the better ones I've seen here but theres a flaw. Your payroll would be well very high if you did that. 149 + 11 for madson is 160, + 14 for papi is 174 + 3 for Ayala which well would be wasted money sets you at 177. Not to mention you want a RF as well. Then you also want a SP like Oswalt, Darvish or Wilson which will cost you 8 for Darvish, 10 for Oswalt or 20 for Wilson. I can't see all that happening. Your team is good. You don't need 25 all stars man. Bring back Ortiz and trade for Street. Sign some guys like Marquis, Livan Hernandez, Brandon Webb and Armando Galarraga for 750K each with invites to ST. Sort them out there like the Yankees did last year. I bet you'll be able to find an arm that will give you 160 IP and a 4.50, 5-ish ERA there. Which is what you need right now for that 5th spot.
  7. Span in LF? I don't see why this guy gets so much hate. I thought that guy who broke his leg was there SS, he's from Japan. They can't plug the DH spot with Mauer there, he'll need a lot of time there. If anything they need to get a backup catcher and it seems theres a ton of them out there right now.
  8. Twins have had their payroll around 90 to 110 million. It's 70 right now and liriano is basically their only big raise coming up. They have a new ballpark, I believe it just opened up in 2011(this year) so they could go out and sign a Cordero or K-Rod. Their bullpen blows, they've got solid SP and is the M&M boys come back then they have a chance. I mean if you want Cordero at a lower price then by all means thats fine, but you're not going to be able to sign Madson on your own terms which is what I'm thinking you're getting at since the rest of the lot isn't that great.
  9. You'd want to sign Madson to start? UserName, I agree with your 3/33 deal but I think they'll be a 13 million vesting option.
  10. Jim Bowden's reporting that the Sox and Boras are talking about Madson right now. I think that'll get done within two weeks.
  11. What do you guys think about adding Ian Stewart? I saw they want a Double-A or Triple-A starter for him. Stoneburner is getting kind of lost in the system, so maybe swamp him out for a roll of the dice with Stewart? Stewart could replace Eric Chavez on the bench
  12. Sox would be wise to stay away from Bell and Thornton if he's going to be there closer. I think Street might be their best move. Bard needs more time. Maybe even roll the dice and sign Frank Fransisco and get Street too. Street closing Fransisco and Bard setting up Jenks as the rotating guy between the 7th and 8th when people need rest Morales as the lefty Wislon as the long man Weiland as a two inning RP
  13. I'm just wondering what are you confidence levels one to ten, ten being very confident in the player, on the following guys. Bard as the closer Reddick in starting RF Lavarnway at DH Salty at starting catcher Aceves as the 5th starter I'm not saying you won't make a move but I'm just curious how happy you would be with each of these in that spot
  14. Maybe he wanted a pressure free team to try to regain his value? Bell, K-Rod, Mason, Dotel, Rauch, Francisco, Capps, Frankie CoCo are still out there. Also Bailey(who has a huge price tag) and Street could be had as well. Still a ton of options, the only downside to Broxton signing is he didn't take a team out of the mix for a closer. So prices might of went up a tad even.
  15. Yankees interested in Kyle Drabek, might be a nice buy low move.
  16. Bedard got Jones, Tillman and others. A-Gon cost your no 1 and 2 prospects and your no 5. A-Gon is a lot better but Gio has a lot more team control years and is a lefty pitcher. Your #3 and #7 to 11 propsects and a major league ready of seems fair.
  17. Sox could offer a deal like Bogarts, Kalish and one of Jacobs/Cecchine/Coyle and get Gio and still keep your Middlebrooks and Lavarnway. I think thats a fair deal for Gio and something Beane would have to think about for sure.
  18. A VERY nice pickup, assuming the PTBNL is nothing.
